Looks like Lucifer Morningstar isn’t quite a lucky devil any longer. His show’s ratings have fallen year after year and so, FOX has cancelled its Lucifer TV show. Sadly, fans of the supernatural crime drama won’t be seeing a fourth season this fall.
A FOX comedy-drama, Lucifer stars Tom Ellis, Lauren German, DB Woodside, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Kevin Alejandro, Rachael Harris, Aimee Garcia, Tricia Helfer, Scarlett Estevez, and Tom Welling. The supernatural procedural centers on Lucifer Morningstar (Ellis) who abandoned his throne, retired to Los Angeles, opened up a nightclub, and started helping LAPD Detective Chloe Decker (German) crack cases.
Lucifer: A Look at the Ratings
The third season of Lucifer is averaging a 0.83 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 3.30 million viewers. Compared to season two, that’s down by 20% and down by 10%, respectively. While those declines aren’t huge, the series has seen dips in its ratings each season and the series could easily have been cancelled before. Apparently, the ratings dipped just a bit too low.
Out of the scripted FOX TV shows we’re tracking, Lucifer ranks 13th in terms of its demo performance and rises to 10th place in terms of average total audience size.
Lucifer showrunner Joe Henderson broke the bad news this afternoon.
So… yeah. #Lucifer has been cancelled. And it fucking HURTS. I loved this show so damn much and everyone put their heart and soul into it. Heartbreaking doesn't begin to describe.

The defacto series finale airs Monday, May 14th.

I don’t watch very much tv sure to lack of time, but this is the only show I binge watch on Hulu when I have time to catch up. Please don’t cancel it. I’ve waited 3 seasons to see Chloe find out. You can’t leave us hanging, we don’t deserve it.

This is the only show I have looked forward to watching in a long time. It was done very well. I would be nice to see it brought back.
Lucifer was the only series on FOX that I watched. If Lucifer is gone, so am I. I hope they ship this show around, it really is quite compelling, one of the few shows that I always watched!

Finally. a show with imaginative writing and challenging plot twists, a solid fan base, and it was picked to be cancelled? Apparently to Hell with the viewers, it’s all about the money.
What, how is this show cancelled, all I kept hearing by word of mouth is that this was a popular show. I certainly enjoyed it for the most part. The fact that this is a show based on a comic that ultimately has Lucifer charging the gates of heaven and challenging God directly. This show felt stalled with him doating after the affections of a single human female. i am absolutely heartbroken over this cancellation because a lot of us can’t watch when a show airs and we have to watch on demand and i don’t know if that shows up in the ratings like i said i’m heartbroken over this
This is awful!!! They have to do a season 4!!! What happens now that Chloe knows? Absolutely devastating when good shows don’t get a chance to fully develop.

I absolutely love this show !!!! Once I saw the season finale all I could think of was I couldn’t wait for the 4th season to see what happens next !!!! Cancelling this show is SO WRONG !!!!!
This show is one of the best that Fox has presented in decades! I have told all my friends about it because they have never heard of it…now they love it too! The less a network promotes a show the less the viewing audience is going to know about it…so of course ratings drop! Please don’t let this series and great group of actors end!
I’m absolutely broken hearted! I thought surely that Lucifer would continue. It’s one of my all time favorites. Just watching the expressions on the face of Tom Ellis was magic. I feel like I’m losing a friend, actually, a few of them.
