Despite a wicked drop in the ratings last year, FOX renewed its Lucifer TV show for a third season. Give the devil his due, though. Decline aside, the supernatural police procedural remained a top-10 ratings earner for the network. Can it hold on, come hell or high water? Will Lucifer be cancelled or renewed for season four? Stay tuned. **6/15/2018: See update below.
A comedy drama, Lucifer stars Tom Ellis, Lauren German, DB Woodside, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Kevin Alejandro, Rachael Harris, Aimee Garcia, Tricia Helfer, Scarlett Estevez, and Tom Welling. The FOX TV series centers on Lucifer Morningstar (Ellis) who abandoned his throne, retired to Los Angeles, opened up a nightclub, and started helping LAPD Detective Chloe Decker (German) crack cases. Now with his mother (Helfer) taken care of, in season three, Lucifer wants to figure out who kidnapped him and why his angel wings have returned. He also has to deal with a new rival for Chloe’s attention, Lieutenant Marcus Pierce (Welling), who, unlike Lucifer, is strategic, reserved, and well-respected.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly in the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/29 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
For comparisons: The second season of Lucifer averaged a 1.04 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 3.654 million total viewers (live + same day ratings).
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the Lucifer TV show? Should it be cancelled or renewed for a fourth season?
**5/11/2018 update: FOX has cancelled Lucifer so there won’t be a fourth season. Details here.
**6/15/2018 update: Netflix has picked up Lucifer season four. Details here.
I loved the show! It’s a pity we won’t see how Chloe will digest the devil’s face. I would really cherish also a short season 4 to end the story well. I hope FOX will change plans and bet on it!
Watched the show since inception. Love it!!! Please do not cancel. I think the loss of ratings was due to the time change from 9:00 to 8:00.
please pleas pleas pick up Lucifer. I really love this show . Come on fox don’t be dumb #$%

I love Lucifer and have watched since the beginning. One report shows Lucifer as the top rated show for Fox in 2018….then Fox cancels??? What are you thinking? It is so different from anything on TV now, which makes it entertaining and gives you a laugh. Please give it another chance!
Renew Lucifer for a fourth season. It’s the only tv show I watch. I love all the cast.
Lucifer was one of the few shows I watched together with my husband. We love the characters and humor. Please, keep it going.
Thank you for give us another season of Lucifer. My husband and I have been recording the show since the beginning. Love the way the writer make the character look like the bad guy, but through love becoming the good guy, and understanding God’s love for the human kind.
well gj fox
24 hour of shows on 175 channels and the only one I made sure to watch for 3 seasons has been Lucifer Go ahead and cancel it and some smarter executive working for another network will pick it up and make a fortune for another company. It’s time for all Lucifer fans to make some noise on twitter and facebook.
Lucifer is the best show, is funny, different, I don´t understand why they canceled the show, there are worst things in tv and they go on!!! and with poor numbers, I´m no talking only about Fox, maybe Lucifer will be fine in other channel, We need more Lucifer because the only thing make laugh like a crazy
