Can this group of ladies still bring the funny in the eighth season of the Mom TV show on CBS? As we all know, the Nielsen ratings typically play a big role in determining whether a TV show like Mom is cancelled or renewed for season nine. Unfortunately, most of us do not live in Nielsen households. Because many viewers feel frustrated when their viewing habits and opinions aren’t considered, we invite you to rate all of the eighth season episodes of Mom here. *Status Update Below.
A CBS comedy series, Mom TV series stars Allison Janney, Mimi Kennedy, Jaime Pressly, Beth Hall, William Fichtner, and Kristen Johnston. In season eight, recovering addict Bonnie (Janney) must learn to adjust to life without her daughter and former-roommate, Christy (Anna Faris), around. With a chaotic past behind her and a newly empty nest, Bonnie focuses on her marriage to her husband, Adam (Fichtner), and on what she wants to be now that she’s finally grown up. Now more than ever, Bonnie depends on the support of her friends, including wise Marjorie (Kennedy), wealthy and sometimes misguided Jill (Pressly), overly emotional Wendy (Hall), and her foster sister, Tammy (Johnston), who was recently released from prison. Collectively, these women help each other overcome their mistakes and stay sober in the face of whatever life throws at them.

*2/17/21 update: Mom is ending so there won’t be a ninth season for this CBS comedy series.
Please reconsider canceling Mom. I still think it’s great even without Christy.
Please don’t cancel this show! It has so much more life in it.
I count on watching it.We are in horrible times right now, don’t take away a lot of people’s favorite show!
Keep writing. There are so many more avenues to comically exploit. As someone already said, very strong cast members. If you find it necessary just mention the Chrissy every once in a while.
Why cancel Mom? It has a very strong cast and still a very funny and enjoyable show!
Still an awesome show, always will be!
I am hughly disappointed that MOM will not return for a 9th season. It is one of the very few shows that I have looked forward to watching in decades. “MOM” just needed more time to adjust to the fact that “Christy” left the show so very abruptly. This was absolutely insensitive of the petite actress!
Its ok! Its not the same without Christy. Ots gone down hill. Want Man with a plan back on!
I haven’t missed Christy one bit thus far. To be honest Farris was kinda becoming just a set decoration the last few seasons. She’d become the ever whining/complaining wet blanket that would make mountains out of molehills. The rest of the ladies have carried on with sheer brilliance. And with the addition of Kristen Johnston as Tammy Diffendorf fueling the already BRILLIANTLY GENIUS Allison Janneys Bonnie made Christy irrelevant and unneeded.
I don’t miss Anna Farris too much. She was aging out of the “big eyed, adorable” thing. What I do not care for is the new male characters. Also, a little bit of Tammy goes a long way. Wish she’d moved on with Christie.
Great show of the season! My wife and I will miss Christy with her funny faces and moments of “Oooh Mom!”, and challenges with French Stewart (Christy’s restaurant boss, who we want to see more of in the show.) However, maybe Christy (Anna Faris), can come back as a guest someday in some future shows. This is a fun and inspiring show that helps people! Every show we laugh and we need that more today then ever. We love all of the characters in the show and Gus the Golden Retriever! Never cancel this show. Have a good day. Peace,… Read more »
I did miss Christy, but the show must go on!!! There’s enough actors to carry the show. The characters each have their own story to tell. I like that this show tries to show how an AA meeting actually
work! So, writers keep up the great show. You’ve got lots of material to go on for years to come!!!
The first show of this season was SO disappointing! I expected to see Christy gone but where did the great writers go? The earliest shows were the BEST but the last few years have not been quite as good. How sad! We desperately need humor these days. I’ll continue watching the reruns. They are great!
I agree with above statement.
Well, we were kind of disappointed… way too much sad stuff for a returning comedy. And boy did we miss Christy!
I felt that way when I first watched the episode. Then I rewatched it and felt better. I do miss Christy, however I feel this can still work. The cast is talented enough. This comedy’s been known for its exploration of dark matters and how to recover from them, yet Marjorie’s heart problem, Wendy’s possible killing, Tammy’s murder father and Jill’s sudden realtionship problems with Andy all popping up after Christy’s departure was maybe too much for one episode. So I agree that maybe they should’ve taken things a little more slowly. I still love this show and remain optimistic… Read more »
It was still funny, show can be both funny and serious like how they still talk about christy. Glad to hear she received a scholarship
Love the MOM Show, there is no such thing as a bad episode. Makes me laugh every time I watch it.
