CBS won’t be back to The Big Easy for the 2021-22 television season. The network has decided to cancel the NCIS: New Orleans TV series and end it with the current seventh year.
NCIS: New Orleans stars Scott Bakula, Vanessa Ferlito, Necar Zadegan, Charles Michael Davis, Rob Kerkovich, Daryl “Chill” Mitchell, and CCH Pounder. Set in The Big Easy, the series revolves around a local NCIS field office that investigates criminal cases involving military personnel. Special Agent Dwayne “King” Pride (Bakula) is a New Orleans native, is driven to do what’s right, and leads the office. Pride’s team, inside and out of the office, includes tough and acerbic Special Agent Tammy Gregorio (Ferlito); Forensic Agent Sebastian Lund (Kerkovich); anti-social Special Agent Quentin Carter (Davis); Jefferson Parish Coroner Doctor Loretta Wade (Pounder), Investigative Computer Specialist Patton Plame (Mitchell); and international counter-intelligence expert Special Agent Hannah Khoury (Zadegan).
Airing on Sunday nights, the seventh season of NCIS: New Orleans averages a 0.51 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.84 million viewers. Compared to season six, that’s down by 22% in the demo and down by 24% in viewership. Eight episodes have aired thus far.
Of the series coming to a close, Deadline reports that Bakula said, “Sad to end our love affair with this phenomenal city but so grateful for all the friends we made along the way… I will miss the music. Big thank you to CBS for seven years.”
“It has been our sincere pleasure and honor to work on this show and with this incredible cast and crew for over 150 episodes,” said executive producers and showrunners Jan Nash and Christopher Silber. “As disappointed as we are to see NOLA end, we couldn’t be prouder of the work we’ve done and are grateful to the spectacular and resilient Crescent City that embraced us for seven wonderful years.”
It was also announced today that CBS’ Mom sitcom is also ending this season. It’s also been reported that the network is considering a new NCIS spin-off set in Hawaii.

Extremely disappointed by the cancelation of NCIS NO. I watch all the episodes including reruns. It seems like CBS gave up on this show especially putting it on a Sunday night when it should have been put on a better night not on football night which caused scheduling conflicts. Please reconsider and keep the show on maybe moving it to Wednesday nights would help. The cast is strong and likeable it’s a pleasure to watch them in action.
Ratings were affected football how Madam Secretary was same way need end been time 2 years in a row wasn’t working. Including coronavirus pandemic wearing mask how stupid piss me off mad.
Just about all the shows that seniors like are going by the wayside. Love NCIS New Orleans…there are hardly any decent shows left on CBS.
Love this show. Moved to late Sunday night with irradic filming due to “covid” I’m sure had an impact on ratings. Great characters, sad to see it canceled.

This one of my favorite shows!!! I can’t always watch it on it’s scheduled time, however, I do go back to my [Spectrum On Demand] to catch up on what I’ve missed! I also know that this show is also one that my older brother loves to watch as well!!!
This ruins my 40th bday plans to go search for the cast Aug 2022! LOL I seriously wanna cry!!!
Wish there was a way they could keep NCIS NOLA. Seems like they pushed it’s exit when they moved it to Sunday after football. They should have tried one more year in a spot where it could consistently seen at the same time – not just when ever a football game ended. Instead, they didn’t even give it or us a chance. And they wonder why people are turning to other venues.

We love NCIS New Orleans!. It is one of our favorite shows. Please be patient and the numbers will rebound. Why not retain programs that Seniors like? We spend money too!!

Due covid19 last season too got extreme low ratings this past season plus football been even a lot lower.

NO don’t cancel NCIS NO! If the rateings were bad move it to a different time slot. Finally the coroner is doing awesome work in her comunity her son is blossoming positive roll models why cancel this?
