For its first two seasons, NCIS: New Orleans has had the security of airing directly out of flagship NCIS, CBS‘ most watched series. Now, the network is moving the series to 10pm, a timeslot with fewer viewers. Will this move negatively impact the ratings or, could they grow? Could it be cancelled or is it essentially guaranteed to be renewed for a fourth season? Stay tuned.
NCIS: New Orleans revolves around the local field office in New Orleans, investigating criminal cases that affect military personnel. Special Agent Dwayne Pride (Scott Bakula) leads the team. The rest of the cast includes CCH Pounder, Daryl Chill Mitchell, Lucas Black, Rob Kerkovich, Shalita Grant, and Vanessa Ferlito.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
3/23 update: CBS has renewed NCIS: New Orleans for a fourth season for 2017-18. Details here.
5/17 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
For comparisons: The second season of NCIS: New Orleans averaged a 1.75 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 12.98 million total viewers (live + same day ratings).
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you still like the NCIS: New Orleans TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for season four on CBS?
They lost me with Vanessa. She cannot act. All she does is stick her mouth out. She does not fit in. I love everyone else but can’t stand to watch her. She is so unlike all the other NCIS actors.
Dislike Vanessa so much ruins the program will stop watching if she leaves will watch it again like the show but she ruins it
I hope network reading comments & write her off. Kill her so don’t return, that mouth, I can’t concentrate
I will stop watching NCIS New Orleans because Vanessa is not a good actress she looks down her nose at everyone she looks like she is pouting all the time and she does not fit with the other characters. Get rid of Vanessa and will watch again
The show has a good premise, however Scott Balls is not an actor I like, at all. For me and my house he absolutely ruins the show. He comes across as very artificial, not just here but in every thing we have seen him in.
I watch. Ncis new Orleans every week I like it more than ncis season 4 is a must
I will not continue watching NCIS New Orleans because of the ‘creative reasons’. Disappointed in the season 3 changes and what you believe makes a good cast so by all means, cancel the show!
Don’t have to cancel, just change cast
hope you us make a another season 4 new Orleans ncis is a good tv show to watch i start to to watch it and my mom watch it with me .i hope they keep is going on like they another ncis tv show.every fans start watch it pleases don’t let cancelled this show the new Orleans ncis .we all ask you to cancelled the show by your fans
I didn’t think a show could ruin the intrigue of NO, but this show has succeeded. Scott Bakula should take a Quantum Leap out of this show and back into Enterprise, before his reputation is destroyed.
I like NCIS New Orleans……please give it a chance!
I love NCIS New Orleans but I’m just not loving Vanessa Ferlito. I would rather watch something else until she is replaced.
I don’t like the female characters except for Loretta. I miss Brodie. She had a chemistry that Percy and Gregorio don’t have with the rest of the team. I hope they don’t bring interoffice romance into the mix. I hate it in real life and even more in series. The powers that be always think that if there are two people of the opposite sex working together they have to have a secret affair. They always know it’s not allowed, but sex comes before duty. Of course, it would be Percy and LaSalle, as that is also the trend, mixed… Read more »
I truly enjoy both the concept and the show. It’s wonderful to see the bounce back of the city after what could have been complete devastation. The original cast was perfect, and the addition of Sahalita Grant was a great shot kin the arm, but the newest character played by Vanessa Ferlito is harsh and out of balance with the layed-back charm of the South, or even the Midwest, Agent Brodie’s old stomping grounds. I was born in New York, and the character is just too much for me! I will continue to watch because I love the show and… Read more »
I see they brought in that ratings killer actress and she has KILLED THE RATINGS as expected. a female version of sean hayes
Don’t cancel the show, just get rid of Vanessa Ferlito as “Gregorio”. Can’t stand to watch her strutting and attitude.
The ONLY thing that should be cancelled on this show is the new “Gregorio” character. The actress is terrible and all she knows how to do is stick out her huge chin/lips and chest. She is way too aggressive and takes away the appeal of the show. If she doesn’t disappear I will no longer watch the show which I have watched and enjoyed every episode since Season 1 Episode 1.
