A CBS true crime docu-series, NCIS: The Cases They Can’t Forget was titled 48 Hours: NCIS for its first two seasons. As a news division program, NCIS: The Cases They Can’t Forget is cheaper to produce than the NCIS drama franchise, while also being something of an advertisement for it.
