Can Doctor Goodwin change the medical system — and get people to watch the NBC series? As we all know, the Nielsen ratings typically play a big role in determining whether a TV show like New Amsterdam is cancelled or renewed for season two. Unfortunately, most of us do not live in Nielsen households. Because many viewers feel frustrated that their viewing habits and opinions aren’t considered, we’d like to offer you the chance to rate all the season one episodes of New Amsterdam. *Status update below.
A medical drama series, New Amsterdam stars Ryan Eggold, Freema Agyeman, Janet Montgomery, Jocko Sims, Anupam Kher, and Tyler Labine. Doctor Max Goodwin (Eggold) is a caring and charming physician whose goal is to fix a broken medical system and to provide exceptional care to the people who need it most. He inspires (almost) everyone around him, and will stop at nothing to breathe new life into the understaffed, underfunded and underappreciated hospital.

2/4/19 Status Update: NBC has renewed New Amsterdam for a second season.
Love New Amsterdam! I have watched the last episode where Max passes out after emptying his sister’s ashes. I wait for this show every week. The cast is wonderful and I have gotten a lot of people hooked on the show. Please bring it back!!!!!!

I don’t make it a point to watch regular television but I am so glad I stopped on the first episode. I have not missed one episode and it’s the best show on TV at this point in time.

New Amsterdam gives you hope that everything doesn’t have to be based on “MONEY”. The characters on the show are heartwarming and believable and the episodes are emotional. I only hope “MONEY” doesn’t cancel this show!!!

Love the show, love the music—but can’t hear all the dialogue due to loudness of music. No matter what voice tv is set to, music dominates. Please balance.
I love the show, however, of they can’t reduce the loud overdone music, I’ll stop watching… There is no reason for music and drums to over blast what the actors are trying to say. Please don’t do this to what could be a great show, or you’ll lose many viewer’s…
My wife and I hate the loud music. We see no reason for it. It is so distracting that we will probably stop watching the program if it continues
I agree. Too many shows are allowing loud background music but for what reason I don’t understand. This show is doing that & I am too close to stop watching although I love it.
