Can Doctor Goodwin change the medical system — and get people to watch the NBC series? As we all know, the Nielsen ratings typically play a big role in determining whether a TV show like New Amsterdam is cancelled or renewed for season two. Unfortunately, most of us do not live in Nielsen households. Because many viewers feel frustrated that their viewing habits and opinions aren’t considered, we’d like to offer you the chance to rate all the season one episodes of New Amsterdam. *Status update below.
A medical drama series, New Amsterdam stars Ryan Eggold, Freema Agyeman, Janet Montgomery, Jocko Sims, Anupam Kher, and Tyler Labine. Doctor Max Goodwin (Eggold) is a caring and charming physician whose goal is to fix a broken medical system and to provide exceptional care to the people who need it most. He inspires (almost) everyone around him, and will stop at nothing to breathe new life into the understaffed, underfunded and underappreciated hospital.

2/4/19 Status Update: NBC has renewed New Amsterdam for a second season.
This an awesome show! Seen all episodes…love the suspense. Its make me want more…The main character is a hotty! I wish the writers would include more romantic/ intimate scenes w/ his on-set wife. I luv tht they getting closer, but it would be GREAT 2c them closer. The writers r GREAT! I hope the writers can find a way to have more seasons…this show 2 good 2 CANCEL….DON’T CANCEL THIS SHOW!
I love the New Amsterdam , It takes a real good show to keep me watching, I can’t wait till the next week, it keeps me interested and few shows does this, love it
New Amsterdam is an excellent show. From the first episode, I was hooked and this is coming from someone who has not watched or had a favorite hospital themed show since General Hospital in the 80’s. There are so many great actors on this show and the story line is very captivating. I hope this show stays around for a while.
Even though I recently started watching New Amsterdam I can see it being the new greys anatomy once greys anatomy ends
I ove the show, but please…….. LOSE the drummer! Most of the background score is excellent,but what’s with the drum riffs often obscuring the dialogue? It is not appropriate and distracts from an otherwise excellent new show!
New Amsterdam is the best show on TV. It has great actors and storylines each and every episode. I never miss one. Based on the book Twelve Patients written by Eric Manheimer makes it above all medical shows to date. I look forward to many years of watching New Amsterdam!
This is a wonderful show. Max is an awesome human being. I want more. All the other doctors are fabulous. It is an ensemble that works well. Dynamic.

I love New Amsterdam. Of course I never missed an episode of ER and New Amsterdam is equal to if not better than ER. As this program portrays, it’s about the patient’s quality of care and not about insurance companies. Sure they break a lot of rules but again it’s all about the patient. Would really miss this show!!
