What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the ABC television network, Once Upon a Time centers on Emma Swan (Jennifer Morrison). Although for the first 28 years of her life, Emma believed herself an orphan, she is in fact the daughter of Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Prince “Charming” aka David (Josh Dallas). To exact revenge on her step-daughter Snow, the Evil Queen Regina (Lana Parrilla) cast the Dark Curse. It swept up all the residents of the Enchanted Forest, stripped them of their identities, and deposited them in our world. But then, Henry Mills (Jared Gilmore) found Emma — his biological mother — and brought her to Storybrooke. As the destined Savior, she broke the curse. However, that allowed Mr. Gold aka Rumplestiltskin (Robert Carlyle) to bring magic to town. Because magic always comes with a price, Emma’s mission is not over. The series also stars Emilie de Ravin, Colin O’Donoghue, and Rebecca Mader.

Telly’s Take
Despite declining ratings, it looked like Once Upon a Time would be renewed for a final seventh season. Now, star Jennifer Morrison has committed to appearing in only one more episode if the show is renewed. Can the show continue without one of its core characters (ala ABC’s plan for season nine of Castle)? I don’t think so and suspect that Once Upon a Time will end with season six.
5/11 update: ABC has renewed Once Upon a Time for a seventh season. Details here.

What do you think? Are you glad that the Once Upon a Time TV show has been renewed for a seventh season? How would you feel if ABC had cancelled this TV show, instead?
I would like to see it continued.
Its time for this show to go, as long as things stay as they are the ratings are not going to improve, as long as the same writers are still working on this show, the quality of the material will continually get worse an more hypocritical and insulting and the ratings will keep on sliding downward.
I like this show and I would like to see another season.
I stopped watching this show a couple of years ago, soon after they got out of hell. Everything takes so long to resolve that I lost total interest. The season with Neverland was mind-numbing! At first I found it quite interesting the way they were able to take all of these fairy tale characters from different stories and integrate them into one story. But after a while it just became too confusing. Couple that with how long it takes to resolve a story, and they lost my attention to the point I stopped watching. So far as I’m concerned the… Read more »
Yeah, they actually started out with an amazing show idea, but really didn’t have good enough writers to keep it interesing after the initial, “Oh, this is unique and different” appeal wore off, so they just kept recycling themes and it became repetitive and tedious. Heck, quite a few of their ongoing themes and one liners I first saw on Buffy the Vampire Slayer!
Cancel this circus now!
Bottom line is the ratings are dropping and 6×18 is the third least watched episode of the series, and this season has been hitting new series lows almost every week, there is no point in renewing a show that is continuously hitting such lows and sending out such horrible messages.
CANCEL IT, it’s high time that OUAT was put to bed.
The continually dropping ratings this show has experienced since season 5 has negated any gains for the network and insured that a lot of budget cuts are going to have to be made if they want to keep this dead weight show afloat, they would be better off cancelling it, the ratings will only fall even further if it’s renewed. The true fans who’ve stopped watching wanted a show about hope not a show about CS and that’s what OUAT has turned into and in doing so Adam and Eddy have alienated the majority of the show’s fanbase, they’re not… Read more »
Renew under the condition that you continue developing characters, not re-imagining old content… In the beginning, I expected Swan to become a “Glinda the Good Witch” like character, but she never blossomed beyond her present form (sad, I think). Lately, I have really been hoping to see Regina transform into that “Glinda” character to battle Rumple, but still nothing… Regina has the experience and now a new lease on life, so what is holding her back? If she succeeds, it will be the ultimate triumph of evil with goodness! She will also have the most wisdom on “good vs evil”… Read more »
I love once upon a time there needs to be a season 7
I haven’t watched the show ‘ Once Upon A time ‘ -ABC .
The show itself has never won any awards
the ratings may have been good.
I think after 6 seasons you could pull the plug on the show .
This is a fantasy type of show .
I love OUAT. Granted- it’s not the “same” as it was in the beginning, but I feel there is still a million different ways it can go. It wouldn’t be the same without the original cast. It’s sad to me how these “die hard” fans turn against the show and the writers. EVERYONE goes through series where there are better episodes than others on the disc. Maybe this was just the rough patch – I personally liked most of the episodes on this season, but some were slower than others. I stick with you OUAT, Renew Season #7
Sad for me if it’s cancelled
Cancel it, it’s turned into absolute rubbish over the past 2.5 seasons.
I’m with you on that one , the show isn’t that good to begin with .

I stopped watching a couple years ago; a couple episodes after they got out of hell. I don’t have the attention span to sit through the length of time it takes to resolve a story.
I’m fed up with the Hook and Zelena propping the only people still enjoying the show are CS fans, a season 7 would be pointless if CS are still in it, the vast majority of the GA is not interested in that kind of rubbish and that’s why they’ve stopped watching and the ratings have tanked.
