Ordinary Joe was cancelled by NBC late last week, and several people behind the Monday night drama series, as well as the show’s star, have reacted to the news.
Starring James Wolk, Natalie Martinez, Elizabeth Lail, Charlie Barnett, David Warshofsky, and Teddy Sears, the series revolves around Joe Kimbreau (Wolk) and a pivotal decision that he makes about his life as he graduates college. The show picks up 10 years later and follows three possible paths for his life.
Wolk posted the following about the cancellation on his Instagram account:

The co-creator and two writers from the series also shared their reactions on social media:
Just got official word that there will be no season two of #OrdinaryJoe – couldn’t be more proud of the writers, the actors, the directors, the uber talented craftsmen and women who all came together as a family and made a truly beautiful show. Thank you all. pic.twitter.com/h2u7gAqGRf

Ordinary Joe wrapped its first season last month on NBC.
What do you think? Did you want to see more of Ordinary Joe on NBC?
I love this show and am sad they will be no more episodes. Now I’ll be left to imagine how things will turn out in each version of Joe.
I saw half the season, and DVR-ed the second half. Did they not end the series gracefully? Are there loose threads or cliffhangers? Not fair! They did that Manifest (who cancels a thriller half-way through the storyline???) and now with this show? Very upsetting!
Such a great presentation and original concept, loved this show. Sorry all those I told about it that were going to tune in won’t get the chance.
Yes I want to see more. Definitely!!!
As someone stated earlier, Ordinary Joe is a great replacement for This Is Us. It portrayed real people in real situations. I am truly disappointed that NBC has decided to YET AGAIN cancel a quality program. It seems as though the network does this every season. You need to give the show some time and let it develop more viewers. Perhaps reevaluate your marketing strategy? Whatever the case, the show should remain on and at the very least wrap up each of the story lines.
It truly broke my heart that it’s been cancelled. You have no idea the therapy that show did for me. From someone who has made a lot of mistakes with their life it made me think for the first time about the word CHOICES!!
Loved the show and it’s unique concept. Was looking forward to much more. What a loss.
So disappointed. Loved this show!!
I am so sorry to see this happen. One of the BEST shows in a long time. This Is Us is finished this season, this show would be a great replacement. WHY is there so much TRASH in TV and anything decent gets CANCELED. SO SAD Tells you where the world is and us headed.
The messages from the cast and crew support what was clearly evident in the show, the people had both talent and heart and a real sense of joy in what was being produced. It is too bad that those who decide what gets made and what doesn’t put their focus on reality trash, no talent non actors and utter garbage. Another show down the toilet, and yet lets guess how long it will be before another god awful Kardashian or Jenner or Osborne spin-off shows up, or worse, more MAFS or other dating show. Argh. I had lost the will… Read more »
So sad! My husband and I loved Ordinary Joe. Show had great potential and such a unique concept.
Ordinary Joe was Best new show on NBC!! A great replacement for This is Us. Please reconsider this decision. It will be a Star!! Love the realism of Chris!! I know. I am teacher and he is perfect. Thank you.
I loved the show…about real life…I was so sad to read it was cancelled
I’m so sick and tired of any show that I watch that gets canceled and picked up by a streaming service. Each service costs money. I would have to subscribe to them all to watch additional seasons of these shows. Maybe they should have a channel that just has new episode of canceled shows. That one I would subscribe to.
I cancelled Direct TV and made the cord cutting move. I have Hulu plus live tv, Paramount, Disney Plus, Netflix, and Apple TV. Still costs a lot less than Direct TV.
Hulu or Netflix should pick it up. Time to cut the cord. They keep canceling quality shows and replace it with garbage and inappropriate content for a family to watch.
Yes. Quality show. Loved it
