This season, CBS has moved Person of Interest to Tuesday nights. Will the ratings fall off as a result or will they grow because of a stronger lead-in? Let’s wait and see.
On Person of Interest, former CIA officer John Reese (Jim Caviezel) and billionaire Harold Finch (Michael Emerson) continue to work together to prevent violent crimes in the Big Apple. Taraji P. Henson, Kevin Chapman, Sarah Shahi, and Amy Acker round out the cast.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
3/13 update: This show has been renewed for the 2014-15 season by CBS.
Final season averages: 2.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 11.83 million total viewers.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
For comparisons: The second season of Person of Interest averaged a 2.9 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 14.41 million total viewers.
Note: Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you still like the Person of Interest TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or be renewed for a fourth season?
I love watching Person of Interest way much better than watching reality shows.
Taraji P. has not been with Person of Interest for over a year, so why is her photo still here? Put the scrubs’s photos up instead. Taraji’s new show, in which she stars, starts tomorrow on FOX at 9 pm. Looks like a hip hop Joan Collins from Dynasty.
Because you’re looking at a post that’s eight months old.
Yes, I know. It is understood that you work alone, but how long would it take to change the photo, say to a big IBM?
Why would we change the photo? She was in the third season which is what the post is about.
Because the show is now in season four, and the photo is no longer representative of what the program has become which is essentially about two computers fighting it out.
Henson also came back to do one episode in Season 4, so her photo belongs here as much as the other cast photos do.
Really liked this show, but this last year the episodes have gotten so complicated. Should get rid of Samaritan.
Love the show, can’t get enough of it!!! I’m really interested in seeing how The Machine vs Samaritan goes down. Love Root and Shaw!
Do more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love the show. Put more aggressive scenes between computers… & more, mystery.
I have watched almost every episode since it first aired! I still love the show and want to see it continue. The characters are all great and this is my favorite TV show.
This will, in all probability, be my last post on the subject of Person of Interest, because I stopped watching at the end of the HR arc, and the program is pretty much D. O. A., however I wanted to float a couple of ideas out into the ether. First, Jim Caviezel’s soto voce is kind of sexy. For those who complain about his “whispering,” in this (television) program, “Reese” is supposed to be secretly communicating with someone else, while appearing to blend with others; should he start suddenly speaking in a normal voice to someone not in the room,… Read more »
Still a good show I love to watch. Not quite as good as before. Need more Bear and more character development. Need to know more about how they think and where they came from. John’s whispering voice is cool.
I cannot watch this show any more because Reese’s character drives me nuts with his whispering! Why the writers have him continually whisper is beyond me. Doesn’t he have a real voice…can’t he use it? Cancel as far as I am concerned. In the beginning it was very good but not any more.
No No Noooo………..10/8/14…is there a new director? Maybe from the Cartoon network! This show, once my very favorite is now becoming a low down boring shadow of itself. What were they thinking….taking a positve active serial to the lowest of low….all characters now cartoon versions of themselves………and story line, pleasssssse allow me to switch to something with real characters.
Sorry John …………it was good while you were John. Bye!
This is the fourth season for Person of Interest, and most television series (even bad ones) do not generally start earning income until after the fifth when it goes into reruns. No matter how bad, Person of Interest will probably be on the air until the show qualifies to be shown on cable. When Person of Interest goes off the air, perhaps Mr. Caviezel will be signed on to Empire as Taraji P.’s live interest.
POI = The best show on TV !
I would still be watching POI if Taraji was still there and millions who followed the show. Now that she’s gone, I don’t care to watch it anymore. I tried but something is definitely missing. Bring her back and the ratings will go up, if not, the show will definitely be cancelled.
Hello there. The Number of viewers for episode 1 ist wrong. It’s 12,44 not 12,29 Mio. The 12,29 Mio. are the fast ratings.
Thanks
Taraji P.Henson is prominently displayed in picture above although her character was brutally murdered in season three of Person of Interest. Today, 9/12/14, Variety Magazine (on line) announced her movie , with Idris Elba, will probably make $25,000,000 this opening weekend and that is huge money for a low budget film. One has to wonder if, concidentally, the loss of the Joss Carter character ( at the behest of Jonah Nolan) had direct impact on the decline in ratings of Person of Interest. A lot of people are paying to see Taraji P. Henson on the big screen. Maybe a… Read more »
I’d probably still be watching POI if Taraji was still on. I was out after they killed Joss and never looked back. Just hated the way the whole thing went down. It didn’t feel right with the other ladies and all. Saw her new movie and it was really good. Nice for Taraji P. Henson to be appreciated by millions of movie patrons.
That’s how I felt when Kate got a bullet to the face on NCIS. Love this show though (POI). For some reason though, it’s been two weeks and I have no new episodes on my DVR and none in On Demand and the CBS website doesn’t have the last two weeks. Do they stop the show from time to time? I found a website that shows episode 9 with a title that isn’t the same title as my next scheduled POI recording next Tuesday . I will be so sad if I can’t see the new eps.
Academy Award nominated actress (“Benjamin Button”), Taraji P. Henson, while having been known as a television actress, is much better known (until “Person of Interest,” and now “Empire”) for her films. To show you her range, take a look at “Hustle & Flow,” — a film I personally detest — where she plays the scared, timid, Shug, as opposed to her character of Cookie.
