Pretty Little Liars is coming to an end. Freeform finally made that official last week. However, there are still more episodes to come. Marlene King spoke about the decision to end the popular drama in a recent interview.

Why is the series ending now? Deadline shared her comments:

“It was process for everyone. Creatively, I’ve always known what these last 10 episodes would be, just not necessarily when they would be. We all came to the conclusion that we want to go out on a high and we wanted to go out in a spectacular way with our fans excited to tweet about the show and engage in the show and it just felt organic. It felt like the right time and the right way to do it.”

The end of Pretty Little Liars has been teased for months. The fans can now prepare for the end, which will be seen in 2017.
