To Disney-ABC, it seems ending is better than mending. Freeform has cancelled its Stitchers TV show after three seasons. Since there will be no fourth season, Stitchers, episode 3.10, “Maternis,” will serve as both the season three finale and the TV series finale.
Airing on the Freeform cable channel, Stitchers stars Emma Ishta as Kirsten Clark; Kyle Harris as Cameron Goodkin; Ritesh Rajan as Linus Ahluwalia; Salli Richardson-Whitfield as Maggie Baptiste; Allison Scagliotti as Camille Engelson; and Damon Dayoub as Detective Quincy Fisher.
A sci-fi crime drama, Stitchers centers on Kirsten Clark (Ishta), a Caltech grad student who is recruited into a covert government agency to be “stitched” into the minds of the recently deceased. Using memories of the dead, Kirsten is able to help investigate murders and decipher mysteries that otherwise would have gone to the grave.
Stitchers: A Look at the Ratings
The third season of Stitchers averaged a 0.13 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 365,000 viewers. Compared to the already low-rated season two, it was down by 14% and down by 6%, respectively. Among the 10 Freeform TV shows we’re tracking, the third season of Stitchers ranked seventh in terms of total audience size, and dead last, where its demo ratings are concerned.
Deadline has confirmed that Stitchers has been cancelled after three seasons on Freeform.
What do you think? Were you a Stitchers fan? Should it have been cancelled or renewed for season four? Sound off in the comments.
OMG PLEASE DON’T DO THIS TO ME NOT A CLIFFHANGER (ESP NOT LIKE THIS) OMG NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
what the……! why ?!?!?! No, you have to renew the show. Season three left a lot of us wanting more because of the ending. I can’t belief this. At least give us this last season one more so they can rap up their stuff. So, we won’t be left in the dark. I hate being left with endings like this because the channel won’t renew the series.
I loved the show, this rips my heart out that they’re ending it. They left it on a cliff hanger. I wish they would at least say what it meant. I hate the not knowing!!! I wish they would make another season or just tell us what they were planning. 🙁
That SUCKS. It was a good show.
Very disappointed especially since it didn’t wrap up nicely. Come on Netflix or Amazon. It would be a great pick up
Seriously? After a year long break and absolutely no promotion, the fact that we hung on with as many viewers as we did was incredible. This show suffered the same malady as CBS’s Jericho – the network just didn’t care. Given a fourth season, promoted with the same passion they put into promoting their ridiculous repetitive Harry Potter weekends, they would have seen ratings rise to a more reasonable level. Day by day more and more people were stumbling across the show or tuning in because of word of mouth spread by the *fans*. The network is at fault for… Read more »
I agree that it probably didn’t have too much further to go but just don’t end the series without giving it finality. I love the show it had good format good acting just give it finality.
There should be a ******* season 4. Please make it happen
Yes they could have another network pick it up or finish it off with a movie
I am very disappointed that Stitchers is not returning! I thoroughly enjoyed the series although I was unable to watch on their air dates due to work and life schedules conflicting the last two seasons I was always catching up on demand with my cable provider. I really wish they would reconsider and return to air a fourth season. Or, in the alternative consider airing a final episode to bring a happy ending to the groups so there are not so many loose ends. Personally I enjoy a more mentally involved show like this over the Pretty Little Liers series.… Read more »
Another great show cancelled. Really disappointing to get into these shows just for them to never be finished. I don’t understand how some manage to get so many series which always have the same boring drama repeated, yet something new and different like stitchers is cancelled without an ending. Clearly more people like watching crap… 🙁
Well, Freeform isn’t many people’s destination network anyway, so I guess I should find solace in the fact that there were three very entertaining seasons, and leave it at that. In fact, I wasn’t even aware the show had returned this year at all until the first EIGHT episodes had aired. Thank goodness Charter offers Freeform on their On Demand service (unlike the CW, BBC America and TV Land among many others), so I was able to view and record the final season. But it sure wouldn’t displease me to see some other channel or service pick it up–and maybe… Read more »
Netflix? amazon??
So lame to cancel a show like that. Please give us one more season to finish off the story and wrap things up.
I hate when a show is canceled with no warning, especially on a cliffhanger. Surely the producers, network execs, etc. knew there was an issue, and could have given the writers a heads-up so the show could’ve had a chance for resolution, instead of leaving the fans hanging like they always do. But it’s always about money, nothing else, including viewers, so too bad for us, eh?
