Can Dex get ahead in the first season of the Stumptown TV show on ABC? As we all know, the Nielsen ratings typically play a big role in determining whether a TV show like Stumptown is cancelled or renewed for season two. Unfortunately, most of us do not live in Nielsen households. Because many viewers feel frustration when their viewing habits and opinions aren’t considered, we invite you to rate all of the season one episodes of Stumptown for us here. *Status update below.
An ABC drama, this show is based on the graphic novel series by Greg Rucka and Matthew Southworth. Stumptown stars Cobie Smulders, Jake Johnson, Tantoo Cardinal, Cole Sibus, Adrian Martinez, Camryn Manheim, and Michael Ealy. In the TV show, Dex Parios (Smulders) is a strong, assertive and sharp-witted military veteran who lives in Portland, Oregon. She has a complicated love life, gambling debt, and a brother with Down syndrome, Ansel (Sibus), to care for. With only herself to rely on, she solves other people’s messes with a blind eye toward her own. Her military intelligence skills make Dex a great private investigator, but her unapologetic style puts her in the firing line of hardcore criminals and the police aren’t her biggest fans either. Other characters include Grey McConnell (Johnson), a bar owner and Dex’s friend; casino owner Sue Lynn Blackbird (Cardinal); Dex’s friend Tookie (Martinez), a taco food cart owner; and Lieutenant Cosgrove (Manheim) Detective Miles Hoffman (Ealy) of the Portland Police Bureau.

*9/17/20 update: Stumptown has been canceled after an initial renewal by ABC.
Episode 13 was weak with large holes in the storyline with no answers in the end. A continuation of this storyline is a mistake. Things happened in the story that could or would not happen. The writers must do a better job of leading the story. Continuing this storyline will lead to cancellation.
The show is meant to be fun and maybe funny, not realistic and bloody. Good show
We want Stumptown back!
This is one of best new series on Television ! Great story lines – intertwined characters – non traditional format that is very uptempo . Cobie is a fresh actress that is very sexy and appealing . Tantoo is a veteran actress that adds a lot of credibility to the cast . RENEW !
PLEASE do not cancel. VERY disappointed that last 2 episodes were actually Modern Family – NOT Stumptown. Please fix.
GREAT stories, cast & characters! Love the flawed/complicated but ethical Dex & hope ABC renews this entertaining series! I’d like the chance to see all these intertwined & very human characters grow!

I really enjoy this show and do NOT want it to get cancelled. I like strong, yet flawed characters, and this show has them. I like the lead to be a woman who can kick ass, yet is not that sure of herself (PTSD doesn’t help, but makes for an interesting character). I like the fact that no one is perfect in this show, everyone is a person who could exist outside of the show. It’s not a generic show. BTW, I am a 68 year-old “liberal”, not a kid, but often a kid at heart.

This is a cute show, I love her kick butt attitude, and how she rolls with the good and bad but still keeps her focus and head on straight with her brother. I like how not only is she not perfect, her friends aren’t either, makes me feel better about my flawed life, just wish I could get away with half of what she gets away with, lol

DONT CANCEL STUMPTOWN. Great story line, love the love triangle, she is such a bad ass. Smart with great instincts, just other life issues. Like most of us .This is a great show! The tape stuck in the car makes it funny. Love all the twist in the stories
I agree with Nancy…I really LOVE this show. You have action, family and friend issues, more action and the entire cast is AMAZING!
