TV show description:
An action-adventure series, this TV show is based on the Supergirl character that first appeared in DC Comics publications in 1959.
Thanks to the help of her parents, pre-teen Kara Zor-El (Malina Weissman) escaped their doomed homeworld of Krypton by being sent to Earth. She is the cousin of Kal-El (Kevin Caliber) — better known in adulthood as Superman.
On Earth, Kara is raised by a pair of foster parents, scientists Jeremiah and Eliza Danvers (Dean Cain and Helen Slater). She keeps her superpowers a secret and often feels like she’s living in the shadow of her foster sister, Alex (Jordan Mazarati).
As a 24-year-old woman, Kara (Melissa Benoist) makes her home in National City and works as an assistant for Cat Grant (Calista Flockhart), a fierce taskmaster and the founder of a media conglomerate named CatCo.
Working alongside Kara are IT technician Winn Schott (Jeremy Jordan) and renowned photographer James Olsen (Mehcad Brooks). The latter has recently been poached from his job at The Daily Planet newspaper in Metropolis to serve as Cat’s new art director.
Kara manages to keep her Kryptonian abilities a secret but is ultimately enlisted by Hank Henshaw (David Harewood) — the head of a super-secret agency where her scientist sister Alex (Chyler Leigh) also works. Kara’s needed to help them protect the citizens of National City from evil forces and becomes a force for good like her cousin. She becomes Supergirl.
Series Finale:
Episode #126 — Kara
Supergirl (Benoist) is joined by familiar faces from the past to help her stop Lex (guest star Jon Cryer) and Nyxly (Sergeant) for good. Meanwhile, Alex (Leigh) and Kelly (Tesfai) prepare to walk down the aisle. Mehcad Brooks, Jeremy Jordan, and Chris Wood return.
First aired: November 9, 2021.
What do you think? Do you like the Supergirl TV show? Do you think it should have ended or been renewed for a seventh season?
Ken
It’s time for the girls to have a superhero model. We have come a long way in the gender wars, The young of the nation is more accepting of this and so these are issues that need to be addressed by Parents and Teachers with their students
My grandchildren love the show
We love this show. My daughter and I love to watch this show together. We hope this show is on many more years!!
On the last show which supergil even in love with one
of the actor she has the same powers as superman
Super girl has been on since October 26,2015
there has been changes but still is a wonderful
show for both of my grandchildren
I don’t like how super girls character is she’s to arrogant and she acts like she’s better then everyone ok you have powers but your are not a god I don’t like how they have her talking to her co workers she acts like they are beneath her she needs to be humbled I stopped watching because of this
How true love between Melissa
Benoist and her boy is true
Love the show other than the sad political point of views being shoved down are throats like gun control. Guns are not the problem, it is the people that should not have them to begin with. Almost Anything can be turned into a weapon and used in a bad way including glass baby bottles, vehicles, dinner forks, the glass from our smart phones, just smacking someone in the side of the head with our large cameras with strap attached to swing it can kill someone easily. Imagination was touched upon and done very well for the most part. I love… Read more »
I don’t know how to edit this. The world imagination was supposed to be immigration.
Don’t worry about the spelling. Yes, anything can be used as a weapon but race ,religion, color and sexual orientation is the most damaging weapon. I have never physically attacked unless being attacked first and that did not happen a lot. Come to think of it, I did rush a ski masked robber pointing a shotgun toward my head. He was only 2 feet away. I am a Pharmacist and just told a customer the heartache in my pharmacist fathers face always wishing that they were in front of me. That man became all the men that hurt my father.… Read more »
Super girl which is Monday night has excellent cast for the new series.
Fun show! Keep it going! Take it darker and hire some ugly people for a change.
On CBS the show was fun, On CW, it has become the most liberal, political show ever. In season 2, the first few episodes were about gun control, Supergirls gay sister, a woman president (expecting Clinton to have won), Illegal out of this world aliens being deported off the planet, have called Trump a Fascist, and more. We watch these shows to escape every day life, not have politics shoved down our throat. Deserves to be cancelled.
Granted the show does give us a modern day glimpse of the political antics going on in real life, but the show doesn’t deserve to be cancelled for this reason. If that is your main reason for cancellation…please flip the channel. Thank you
You guys should make a season 2 I’m waiting its so good and I want to see what she said omg God to in the last episode and I want to see james and Kara to get together and one episode Kara nearly dies for the season two episode three I’m areal big fan of Kara the supergirl show what superman looks like.
