Can the team solve the mystery in the second season of the The Alienist TV show on TNT? As we all know, the Nielsen ratings typically play a big role in determining whether a TV show like The Alienist is cancelled or renewed for season three. Unfortunately, most of us do not live in Nielsen households. Because many viewers feel frustration when their viewing habits and opinions aren’t considered, we invite you to rate all of the second season episodes of The Alienist here. *Status update below.
A TNT period drama based on the books of Caleb Carr, season two of The Alienist stars Daniel Brühl, Luke Evans, Dakota Fanning, Douglas Smith, Matthew Shear, Robert Ray Wisdom, Ted Levine, Melanie Field, and Rosy McEwen. The second season, aka Angel of Darkness, takes place in New York City in 1897 where Sara Howard (Fanning) has opened a pioneering private detective agency. She reunites with formidable alienist Dr. Laszlo Kreizler (Brühl) and New York Times journalist John Moore (Evans) to find the kidnapped infant daughter of a Spanish dignitary. Their investigation leads them into a sinister path of corruption and deceit, towards a dangerous and elusive killer.

Brighten up a miserable English night
I really like detective shows in general and enjoy shows with characters, such as Sherlock Holmes in the past or present (Elementary), but the period pieces add special interest. Overall, the acting is good and I like the psychological aspect of trying to figure out the “why” behind the crimes and the puzzle-solving aspect of mysteries in general. This is a very worthy series that definitely deserves to be continued! I love the show The Alienist, I think the actors are perfect, it’s suspenseful and exciting and I love the history angle as well. I used to watch Penny Dreadful on another channel and missed it terribly when it ended, but when I stumbled across your show I saw it has a similar feel and is done even better. Please keep it going.
Season 2 of The Alienist was fantastic! Not only was the acting Emmy worthy but the sets, costumes, lighting, and filming were amazing. The details were incredible and the 1890’s NYC was a historical treasure. The set and all of the extras made it so real. The relationships between Lazlo, Sara and John developed as did their characters from season one. We are invested in them and their lives – we need “Moore”! Please don’t make us wait 2 or more years again.
Please, return for season 3. It is such a brilliant series. It would be such a shame to cancel it!
Please return for season three. I enjoyed the show very exciting. I love Dakota Fanning she is a brilliant actress , I am her biggest fan, everything she does is outstanding.. It would be a shame to cancel her show.
On a final note, if TNT makes the serious mistake of not renewing for a S3, then another network or streaming service should pick it up and continue on. Amazon, Netflix, Hulu, are you listening????? !!!!!
The final two episodes of S2 were outstanding as usual. TNT would be foolish not to renew for S3. We were left with a cliffhanger and not a “all’s well that ends well” ending. Soooo TNT, you are obligated to give us one more season to untangle and move forward with all the loose ends tied up in a pretty bow.
I enjoyed both seasons so far, but in season 2, episode 7, I didn’t care for when Thomas Byrnes double crosses the team for his own gaines and also season 2, episode 8, when John Moore decided to keep his engagement to Violet, instead of following through with his courtship with Sara Howard. Please have them find their way back to one another when it’s time for the series to have it’s final episode, when there is no chance for other seasons. I so enjoyed the season 1 and season 2 of the Alienists, such a smart series and the story line as well as the actor the characters play are so intriguing!!
I’m so looking forward to a season 3!
The second season of The Alienist was phenomenal. Consistently entertaining and thoughtful. Please do a third season. Please renew and have a third season. Maybe with life changing events, John and Sarah can finally end up together.

I like the first season of the alienist I liked the second was disappointed in the season 2 finale I don’t like how they ended things with John Moore and Sara Howard. I thought Sara would have ended up pregnant not violet . John and Sara would be together.
