Telly’s Take
Will CBS cancel or renew The Code for season two? The ratings were quite poor and CBS pulled it off the air for several weeks so I don’t see the network wanting more episodes. I’ll update this page with breaking developments. Subscribe for free alerts on The Code cancellation or renewal news.

What do you think? Do you like The Code TV series on CBS? Should it have been cancelled instead of renewed for a second season?
VERDICT: Cancel this unbelievable show that is lacking in any substance!
Hurry up and decide or I’m going to delete! Don’t trust CBS or ABC!!
My Wife and I both love the show, even our 6 year old daughter likes it and watches it with us. Would of loved a longer first season also and really hope it gets a second season chance. It’s alot better than most the show’s that’s already been renewed and I can say this for several other new shows that deserve a second season more than the ones that have.
I just found this show as most of the shows I watch are ending their seasons. I watched all 7 episodes so far and enjoy the hell out of this show. It’s entertaining and seems to be just getting the viewers drawn into individual story lines. We will NEVER see a show that accurately depicts any branch of the military best they can is come close. I don’t care about how close the uniforms are or how much “military bearing” the characters have, it draws and maintains my attention that’s what counts to me. ..and how many here REALLY know… Read more »
It’s hard to have a show about Marines be successful when it isn’t supported by real Marines who have seen it. IJS…
The series is quite good. Every TV series has a bad start. I think it will be renewed for a second season because a 10 episode season is not enough to give the show a chance to stand on its own. Oh, and PEOPLE who whine about the show? Remember one thing: it’s Hollywood. They have to build it up. Who wants to watch a real world depiction of life in the military? Not me, I would turn it off in an instant. For everyone’s interest, no TV series based on the military has ever been accurate. NCIS, JAG, The… Read more »
You’re asking a lot of Marines. Many of whom aren’t on active duty against their own will. They very much want to see the real Marine Corps if one hour on Monday is the closest they can get. The civvies who make up the majority of the viewership may not, but a big part of them will listen to a Marine. So if they see a Marine say it sucks, they are gonna default to his expertise and say it sucks as well. I hope it makes it for a 2nd round, but I’m not gonna hold my breath lol.
Mens’ hair is TOO LONG!! Cut it. Shave it! Less cutesy drama.
I love the code I truly hope it’s renewed
I can’t comment about the accuracy of the show, but as a legal drama it is not bad at all. The pilot episode was very generic, and it didn’t help that the leads seemed like little more than pretty young faces. But it has been much better lately. Unfortunately in television you rarely get a second chance to grab viewers. I would be very surprised if The Code makes it past season 1.
“The Code” is SO BAD. It’s almost an insult to our troops and veterans. It is bad in so many different ways that there is not room enough to describe how bad it is. (One other commenter said, “… at least they could hire one consultant on the subject, this could give more realism to the show….” The show has at least two advisors — both of them former Marines, one operational and one paralegal — and yet the show is still awful. Thus, I must conclude that the writers, producers, and directors totally ignore the advisors. (James Dever, the… Read more »
I must agree. It is off by military standards: hair (head and facial), uniform appearance, and conduct. The marines are far more formal than this. Also, the legal drama is boring!
But it sounded like you watched it. Why?
I love this show and the actors are great story line impressive please renew!!
Intelligent and thought provoking show with potential for good character development of its diverse cast. I hope it’s renewed.
I enjoy The Code and really hope it is renewed for Season 2! I appreciate a show that has some values and like that it has a similarity to JAG.
What values?
The show has potential, draws some parallels with JAG, but will never replace its traditional fight for justice observing and respecting all the real rules and regulations associated with the real military personnel, at least they could hire one consultant on the subject, this could give more realism to the show, more suspense, more context. Choosing the cast and introducing some newcomers isn’t that bad, two of them are already widely known, the rest of them will evolve as their roles become more progressive and more “seasoned” in time.
Not a bad start, let’s hope it gets better.
I thought that it was pretty good.
