In this comedy series, Nathan Miller (Will Arnett) is a recent divorced local news reporter. He’s looking forward to living the life of a single man — until his parents’ marital problems unexpectedly derail his plans.
After Nathan breaks the news of his divorce to his parents — Carol (Margo Martindale) and Tom Miller (Beau Bridges) — his father is inspired to follow his lead. He stuns his family when he leaves his wife of 43 years.
Already in shock, Nathan is even more aghast when his vibrant but meddlesome mother decides to move in with him. Meanwhile, his absent-minded father decides to impose upon Nathan’s happily-married sister, Debbie (Jayma Mays), her husband Adam (Nelson Franklin), and their daughter Mikayla (Eve Moon).
Ray (JB Smoove), Nathan’s best friend and news cameraman, was excited to be Nathan’s wingman in the dating scene, but Carol manages to even cramp his style.
Now, as Nathan and his sister settle in with their truly impossible parents, they both wonder just how long the aggravating adjustment period is going to last.
Episode #34 — Hero
When Nathan decides he should have a better relationship with his niece Mikayla, he agrees to use his celebrity status to help Debbie and Adam get her into a popular school. Meanwhile, when Kip develops side effects from his sleeping pills, Carol and Tom agree to help him kick the habit by sleep-training him.
First aired: July 18, 2015.
What do you think? Do you like The Millers TV series? Do you think it should have been cancelled? Why do you think it didn’t survive long enough to see a third season?
Didn’t know they cancelled The Millers though upset they did it was funny CBS bring it back, we could careless about Survivor and shows like that
I have to agree get rid of the stupid shows and bring back the funny ones.
Life is to short to be depressed, we need to laugh.
What happened between last season and this season of The Millers? For me, it was the day and time change. Do the networks think we revolve our schedules around TV shows? That’s why we use OnDemand. I have a conflict on Monday nights, but watch what I miss at another time when I don’t have anything “good” to watch, like Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 9:00.
Somebody brought up a good point. If the networks are basing a shows longevity on sponsors- how can that work anymore? Most of us wheel through the commercials anyway. If Niellsson ratings are deciding-then quit asking dummies!! There should be channels or program timing to just allow grownups to watch the shows they like. Put the teenybopper shows, and the cop shows, and the reality shows on one station; the great sitcoms and more mature programming on another. I thought I was basically kidding but as I read it back- not bad idea!! 😉
Yet another stupid decision by TV execs to cancel one of the funniest shows on tv. Every character was funny in his/her way.
I love Will Arnett and JB Smoove, and the rest of the cast are great as well. I hope this show gets another consideration. Please stop with the cop/ drama crap.. How many ways do we need to see a body desecrated ??
Come on CBS what the heck are you doing??? This was one of the funniest shows on..laugh out loud great!! Why did you cancel it? Pull your heads out of your butts and get it back on television!!
What??? The Miller’s was a great show. Every episode is funny. Loved that they added Sean Hayes. Why not replace Two Broke Girls which has gotten stupid.
With all these comments, it’s obvious viewers want to watch this show. Why not give it a chance to the end of the season? I think they made the decision much too quickly. There are a lot more stupider shows on TV. What about those adult cartoon shows that keep running and running. Talk about stupid!!!
What a disappointment! One of the funniest shows on TV! C’mon CBS!! They can’t all score as well as The Big Bang Theory but they can still be great!
NO WAY! Love this show, laugh out loud funny! Network execs are stupid, are they going to replace it with another crappy “reality” show? Please someone pick it up! Great actors great writers!
I really liked this show, esp. the beginning of the third season with Sean Hayes! I agree with you that we don’t need another “reality” show. Come on, network executives…use your brains. There are a lot of us that don’t fit the demographic you are constantly playing to…..PLEASE NO MORE REALITY SHOWS, EVER!
really!!!!! The Millers is a great show. I’ve been patiently waiting for this show, to fined out it’s been cancelled. those network people need to be FIRED! please someone out there pick up the show
Can’t believe it was cancelled!!!!!!! It is a great show. It seems all the good shows get cancelled and the shows that are not worth watching Don’t
the millers, should not have been canceled,a great tv show my daughter and i watched it all the time, great, funny, entertaining, the actors were great, some shows get cancelled for no reason at all, please bring it back, thank you, leahkatz
I loved this show. I dont know why this show would be csncelled. I wish they would reconsider continuing this show. Really entertaining.
Absolutely LOVED the show…………..made me laugh out loud many times each episode. I watched them all during one day’s screening. Hope it will be reissued………miss it so!
I loved the Millers. First show in a long time that was funny & dissent. You messed up this last season when you added the gay guy. Just needed to stay with original cast. Bring it back, please.
Loved the show don’t know why they cancelled it. Not too many good shows on tv. Wish they’d bring it back on
I loved the show, The Millers. It was hilarious. I laughed so hard when I watched it. I do not understand why it was cancelled. It was one of the few shows that I liked to watch.
Thanks, Chris Hutchens
A great show. Very pleasing cast. I hope someone else picks it up.

I love this comedy. I’ve been looking for it and just learned it was cancelled. It was one of the few shows geared to family people (until you put in a gay neighbor) some of us just don’t want to see that from a family show. I hope it comes back on TV (without gay neighbor) along with family shows that make it fun to watch TV again.
The Millers was one of the few quality shows I will watch on network TV. Rather than stand behind a potential ratings earner network executives prefer to dump it to try out another show. Now I have only three shows to watch on CBS, NBC & ABC. If this keeps up I will soon watch only cable & PBS. Hopefully this show will be picked up by a cable network. I have my fingers crossed.
