There won’t be a third season of The Queen Latifah Show. Sony Pictures TV has cancelled the syndicated talk show after two seasons. New episodes will continue to air through March 2015.
In a statement, Sony said, “We want to thank Dana [Latifah], the producers and the entire staff of The Queen Latifah Show for creating a program that we are all very proud of. Thank you also to our terrific station partners and advertisers who supported the show.”
Latifah posted the following on her Facebook page, as a message to herself and her staff:
Dear Dana,
Just a little note to say Thank You…
Thank you for your strong work ethic and great effort in getting The Queen Latifah Show off the ground and running.
Your dedication and sacrifice was crucial to the entire team, and in the face of intense challenges, you displayed “True Grit”!
Your Family, Partners, Staff and Crew showed up with you every step of the way. Be very proud of that! Not everyone can say the same.
You can also say you have been a blessing to and been blessed by amazing guests and incredible audiences for this show.
We truly changed people’s lives for the better.
So… STAY POSITIVE, STAY STRONG, and most importantly, STAY OPEN… There is so much more God has in store!
Lovingly, You!
P.S. This letter is for me, my staff, my crew, and everyone who was by my side for this incredible journey. The most important thing in life is that you wake up every single day and take chances. No matter what the outcome…believe in yourself and continue to fly.
What do you think? Will you miss The Queen Latifah Show?
SOOOOOO, I DIDN’T SEE A REASON TO GO WITH THE TITLE OF THE ARTICAL?
The show had to end. After all, it was entertaining, didn’t insult our intelligence and wasn’t filled with filth and gab fests about the most dysfunctional sorry excuse for a family in America: the Kardashians
Just wanted to say that I am a huge fan of Queen Latifah. I really loved the show and I do miss it. Please bring back the show.
QL show was much better than Meridth Viera show. Not watching that. Bring back the Queen.
I thought this program was so refreshing! The only thing I watched at 9:00 a.m. here in the Midwest!!!!!
I was very disappointed to learn the QL show was cancelled. Loved the show and looked forward to it every afternoon. Please bring it back as it was the most fun, interesting, and informative show on TV. I miss the Queen
This sucks. Queen you are the best and Sony has gotten this all wrong. Bring back the Queen!!!!
I liked the show. She was always very upbeat, funny, kind and considerate. But, I guess the big honchos think otherwise.
I really missed Queen Latifah Show very refreshing. I love all her guest will round it.
I don’t understand why it was canceled. It’s so surprising they keep all of this garbage on .
I hope they put it back on.
Why would you cancel a great talk show like Queen Latifah? There is not a lot of simple daytime entertainment on T.V. these days. Another “Judge program”?? Really???
I guess I’ll just stick to Ellen now, but I will miss QL.
I think QL show was fabulous.
She was down to earth, to the point.
She discussed everyday plain topics….. Things that happen in real life .
I LIKED THAT !!!!!!
I am retired and loved the show. I don’t like HOT BENCH. I heard it was created by Judge Judy. Hot Bench is not as entertaining as the Queen. What was Sony thinking.?
Talk shows are a very tricky business, either you have it or you don’t. Sony you make a booboo.
Dear Queen, I really don’t understand why your show was cancelled. It was the best thing that had happened to daytime TV in a long while. You were very informative and a lot of fun to watch. I now turn my TV off after you go off in the afternoons because nothing else catches my interest. Some of the other show that are on are really not all that interesting. I really do think Sony made a big mistake by not keeping your show.
Sincerely,
Disappointed viewer.
Bring it back!!!i don’t think it was given enough of a chance. Maybe at another time. After 3.
Why? Why would they cancel it? Do you really need to ask that? Money, silly. With the exception of a very select, few cases, it’s always about money, and clearly the QL Show wasn’t making any for them. So, regardless of how uplifting the show is, at some point Sony needs to pay their bills. It’s just business.
