TV show description:
From creator Alexi Hawley, The Rookie TV show is an hourlong comedy-drama that centers on John Nolan (Fillion). After a life-changing experience, this small-town guy decides to do just that — change his life.
Now, John is working toward his dream of being a Los Angeles police officer. The thing is, he is the oldest rookie on the LAPD, and the brass looks at him like the embodiment of a midlife crisis.
John’s co-workers include Talia Bishop (Williamson), a new training officer, and he’s her first student. The other training officers include the high-handed Tim Bradford (Winter) and Angela Lopez (Diaz), who is shooting to become a detective trainee.
Rounding out the cast of characters are rookies Lucy Chen (O’Neil), Jackson West (Makin), Sergeant Wade Grey (Jones), and Nolan’s C.O. Zoe Andersen (Mason).
If John fails to keep up with his young colleagues, as well as young criminals, he will be putting lives at risk, including his own. Maybe though, he can use the experience he’s gained with age, and the determination he has developed over the years, to make a real go of it. Either way, he’s got a secret weapon — his sense of humor.

Love, love, LOVE the show! When I first watched this, I thought, “Yea, they are just going to make a Bozo out of this guy.” Wrong! Nathan does a great job on the show. His character gives great meaning. He is constantly getting better in each show. He shows sympathy to those in need. And, now they are bringing in these “Hot Babes.” It’s funny seeing how he reacts to “I think I’m pregnant.” And, it’s not always a happy ending. I love this show and want it to continue! Great writing and characters. I am glad it is on Sunday night. There are too many other shows on Mon, Tues, and Wed.

First Nathan’s Character on “Castle” book author playing cop, Now Later on Nathan Fillion is john Nolan a real Rookie police officer,Nathan is doing a very good job with his new show,and character John Nolan ,and gets along well with the other police rookies on the show and I hope off sreen too..
This is a good show. Nathan Fillion is well liked as are the other cast members.
This show deserves to be kept on the schedule.
The Rookie is a excellent program. I watched Nathan Fillion on other programs in the past and began watching The Rooke because of him. I actually enjoyed his character better in another series but after giving it some time, I have come to enjoy his John Nolan character as well, along with the other ‘rookies’. Actually, the entire cast of characters do a great job together. I hope this one is a keeper as well. Good wholesome entertainment.

Since they killed the captain off I don’t care for it I don’t care for Nathan Fillion’s part on the show won’t be watching
DON’T CANCEL THIS SHOW. MY FAMILY AND I THINK THIS IS ONE THE THE BEST SHOWS THAT YOU HAVE. NATHAN FALLEN AND THE REST OF THE CAST ARE GREAT. THE STORY LINES ARE GREAT.
