TV show description:
This singing competition TV show attracts vocalists from across the country to compete in multiple rounds of eliminations with the winner ultimately landing a recording contract and a $100,000 cash prize.
The show’s format features three stages of competition: the blind audition, a battle phase, and the live performance shows.
During the blind auditions, the decisions from the musician coaches are based solely on voice and not on looks. The coaches hear the artists perform, but they don’t get to see the artist — thanks to rotating chairs. If a coach is impressed by the artist’s voice, he/she pushes a button to select the artist for his/her team. At this point, the coach’s chair will swivel so that he/she can face the artist he/she has selected.
Once the teams are set, coaches dedicate themselves to developing their singers, giving them advice and sharing the secrets of their success. During the battle rounds, the coaches will pit two of their own team members against each other, singing the same song together in front of a studio audience. After the vocal face-off, the coach must choose which of his/her singers will advance.
At the end of the battle episodes, only the strongest members of each coach’s roster remain and proceed to the live stage shows.
In the final performance phase of the competition, the top artists from each team compete against each other during a live broadcast. The television audience votes to save their favorite talent, leaving the coach to decide (live) who they want to save and who will go home. By the end, each coach will have one vocal artist left, ready to compete against the other teams’ finalists to be named the winner.

What do you think? Do you like The Voice TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for another season?
I was a big fan of The Voice, not so much anymore. I live in CA, so the new 2017 live rules do not allow me to vote in the live rounds. To think because NBC is currently blocking my cable company I actually had to get an antenna if I wanted to watch The Voice live. What do I get the first night of live voting (the best part of the show), I get a “this show was pre-recorded” and “voting is now closed.” Since they are allowing people in a certain time zone to be the only ones… Read more »
Big fan. Favorite coach foursome is Blake, Adam,(the lynch pins) Pharrell and Gwen. Just me. Not enough said about absolute awesome job Carson Daly does on this show or frankly anything he is in. Giving Alicia and Miley fair chance cause fan of both. Looks like talent tight so here we go….
Please renew the voice
I absolutely Love the Voice, I love to watch the coaches, it’s entertaining to me. There is some talent that comes across the stage, not so much this season as in past seasons. I don’t care much for Christina and would much rather have Shakira back. But as I have seen written here already, once the competition is over and someone has been named the Voice it’s pretty much over. You hardly hear about them again. So where is this fantastic contract and career that these winners are supposed to get? At least with Idol some of them actually are… Read more »
I love the voice but I have not watched it since Pharrell’s first season. Will watch now with Miley and Alicia! Thank God he is gone. Don’t be so hard on Miley give her a chance. Alicia is great. I love the show but could not take Pharrell’s arrogance. Looking forward to watching again. The voice has been the best contestant show.
I vote to keep it going!!!! – Love the Voice – Love the relationship between the judges (Blake, Adam, Pharrell & Gwen – Not a big fan of Christina – Sorry). JORDAN SMITH!!!! can’t tell me that he is not awesome. Every single person that comes across there can actually sing. Keep it going!!!
I would vote to cancel “The Voice”. It’s become boring and more about the judges and their dramas than contestants and talent. Plus once contestants win their career never really goes any where. Totally Rip Off To Watch and Compete.
I think it is becoming tired like Idol.
CANCEL ‘THE VOICE’! IT IS A RIP OFF OF ‘IDOL’ and ‘X-FACTOR’ (that killed X-F’S chances stateside) and it doesn’t make stars, it just pads the hosts and MARK BURNETT’S bankrolls. And they had a serial sex offender (CEEL-O) on in the first years and then quietly dumped him! ONLY SIMON COWELL and his team can pick stars, and the polished belters that audition for ‘the VOICE’ are NOT stars!
This show needs to be cancelled ASAP! It is a horrible rip off of ‘THE X-FACTOR’, and thanks to it SIMON COWELL’S original idea of a team mentor and his/her finalists going head 2 head, as in ‘X-FACTOR UK’ was ruined and only lasted 3 years! Now with ‘AMERICAN IDOL’ running it’s course, the ‘VOICE’ needs to go away, especially when they greedily had 2 SEASONS a year and really wore out their welcome early! The VOICE is all about the judges and NEVER makes a STAR like IDOL has, and instead it brings you ALREADY polished singers screeching to… Read more »
Love this show and hope it continues to search for great singers !
[…] also not surprising that they directly benefit from having The Voice as a lead-in on Mondays and Tuesday nights. How would Revolution, Go On, and The New Normal do […]
We love this show seeing singers get a chance to make it and I am sure that some that do not win on the show get seen and picked up by some record labels!!
[…] is banking that The Voice TV show will remain a big ratings winner this season and have given it two prime spots on the fall […]
[…] The Voice registered a 4.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 12.0 million total viewers. It was the big winner but was down significantly when compared to last season. It debuted after the Super Bowl (16.3 in the demo with 37.6 million) and then aired the next night (6.7 in the demo with 17.8 million). Whichever you compare it to, the season three premiere was down. […]
