FX has found some great success with their scripted dramas, especially ones like Sons of Anarchy and American Horror Story. Will Tyrant also be a ratings hit? Will it be renewed for a second season or will it be cancelled instead? We’ll have to wait and see.
Tyrant revolves around the youngest son of a dictator who returns to his war-torn country in the Middle-East with his American family. The drama’s cast includes Adam Rayner, Ashraf Barhom, Moran Atias, Jennifer Finnigan, Anne Winters, Noah Silver, Mehdi Dehbi, Fares Fares, Alice Krige, Salim Daw, and Justin Kirk.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.
Final season averages: 0.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 1.55 million total viewers.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Cable ratings are typically released within a day or so of the show’s airing, except for in the case of weekends and holidays. They are sometimes harder to locate so there may be occasional delays or gaps.
What do you think? Do you like the Tyrant TV series? Do you think that it should be renewed for a second season?
UPDATE: FX has renewed Tyrant for a second season.
Absolutely atrocious
“Tyrant” viewership is trending down in key demos and is likely to be Sayonara after season one concludes. The show is simply too slow and the male lead character is a predictable, goody-two-shoes. His wife should dump him and hookup with the evil dictator (his brother) for a great salacious plot twist. The gay subplot is played, tired and lame.
I think we’ve had enough of saviors by the name of Barry!
The only show I look forward to in many years! The entire cast is great. I record the episodes and watch during the week. Definitely renew for a second season!
Loving it so far and finding the dynamics of the relationships very intriguing. I also am a little vague on the Ihab storyline, not sure if that’s intentional or not at this point. This show has so much potential and hopefully won’t disappoint! Oh, and maybe it’s just me, but how hot is Barry?!!!
“Oh, and maybe it’s just me, but how hot is Barry?!!!” He is rather easy on the eyes, isn’t he? 😉 I’m really enjoying this show. I wasn’t sure what to expect from it when I watched the first episode but I was hooked pretty much right from the start. I really like Barry and the story line is interesting. There is so much that can be done with this show and I’m greatly interested to see what roads they take it down. The only thing that I do not like is Barry’s teenage son. Every second he’s on screen… Read more »
Tell me about it. Wooooooooh. OMG, I love this show.
Love the show I have looked at it 0ver and over I can not wait to see more of it
Sorry Claudia, it’s only on once a week.
I was able to watch the pilot episode and im hooked and intrigued as to how the story will develop. this is a novel idea for a series.
I’m hooked. Love the show!
Tyrant is a riveting show. Masterfully executed
“Masterfully executed” ??? You’ve just got to stop reading other reviews before you post online. There’s nothing “masterful” about “Tyrant” other than the assumption that FX thought it could build an audience.
Is Barry going to do anything but stand around looking anguished? I’ve watched 2 episodes. I’ll give it one more. I’m not impressed.
I found the show very interesting but also very disturbing. My husband liked it a lot. We will continue to watch it to see how the story will develop.
Woman who the brother was raping – it does not matter who she is. Brother (Jamal) is broken man, he was broken in childhood, he is evidently still broken now. Everything speaks about it – Barry/Bassam told that explicitely to his wife, we saw on screen how he was broken in childhood, and for now there is more than enough evidence. He have beautiful wife who hates him/want/intend to control him, and as he probably only wants her love, in return he hates her, and is taking out his misery on others because he can. Yes, it is strange to… Read more »
I watched it, my Tivo picked it up 2 min late as other shows were taping, but it left some things unclear to me.
Note spoilers maybe, so I will keep it vague.
I did not know who the woman was that the brother was raping, nor did I understand the family situation where the one family is going to do something at the wedding. I understand there is bad blood there, no duh, but why? Is this something I missed? Possibly, I watched it, and was lost part way through in some of the places so my interest waned.
For a pilot it was OK, I’m not disappointed but I’m not impress either.
I’ll give this TV show a couple more of episode to see how the story unfold
Haven’t watched yet, it is on my DVR…I am wondering with all that is going on in our Eastern block countries…Are we ready to watch this as entertainment???? I am eager to see what others opinions are of the show and have you had the same thoughts about this as I have….
there are no “Eastern Black” countries
it was ‘block’ not ‘black’
