TV show description:
From creator Dave Hemingson, who executive produces with Bill Lawrence, the Whiskey Cavalier TV show is one part screwball comedy, two parts spy drama. The action-adventure centers on FBI Agent Will Chase (Foley), codename: Whiskey Cavalier and CIA operative Frankie Trowbridge (Cohan), codename: Fiery Tribune.
The series kicks off with Will still reeling from a breakup Gigi (Valerie Huber). She dumped him when he proposed to her, and since the entire incident was caught on camera, poor Whiskey has to relive it with not just his co-workers and friends, but his rivals and targets, as well.
While on assignment overseas, Whiskey crosses paths with Frankie, and the results are both explosive and captivating — largely because she ignites an explosion in order to cause a diversion and absconds with the target Will is supposed to bring in.
That target is Edgar Standish (Williams), a hacker extraordinaire who, in his work for the NSA, stumbled onto evidence of an enormous conspiracy involving corruption, election theft, and more. Since Edgar is a US citizen, the FBI has dibs on him, but Frankie means to take him to a CIA black-ops site, to get him to reveal the location of all the sensitive files in his possession.
Although both Will and Frankie are tough, seasoned agents, he has an open, tender side, whereas she prefers to stay out of touch with her feelings. Each one bests the other and saves the other at turns.
Sparring over custody of Edgar, Frankie and Will quickly develop a grudging respect for each other’s skills, as well as for Edgar’s determination to uncover the truth about vast government corruption. They’re soon assigned to work together on an inter-agency task force, to save the world.
The team also includes FBI profiler Susan Sampson (Ortiz), CIA gadget guru Jai Datta (Das), and FBI Agent Ray Prince (Hopkins). Together they’ll take on that task of saving the world and they just might save each other, too.
Series Finale:
Episode #13 — Czech Mate
Ollerman attempts to force the team to commit a terrorist attack for The Trust using Ray’s life as leverage. Meanwhile, Jai helps Standish deal with a revelation about Tina, and Will and Frankie come to a realization about their relationship.
First aired: May 22, 2019.
What do you think? Do you like the Whiskey Cavalier TV series? Should this ABC TV show have been cancelled or renewed for a second season?
I seldom watch any television. Whiskey Cavalier was a show I did watch and looked forward to seeing on Wed nights. How sad to cancel a show that was entertaining, while also suspenseful at times. The camaraderie between the cast was amazing. A show about a CIA and FBI agent, was filled with humor, which is something one does not see often. Scott Foley literally “cracked me up”. This is so sad and from the comments from those who watched, along with the cast,a complete surprise. It should tell you something for me to say this was the only series… Read more »
I think that Whiskey Cavalier should have been renewed. What was ABC thinking??? I know that the cost of the show might have been a consideration; however, I think that the rating were inaccurate. Viewership should be considered more so on TVs than any other format. TV viewer are consistent watchers of regular programs. Please re-consider your choice to cancel.
I love this show. Please reconsider, or someone with some common sense please pick it up.
I LOVE THIS SHOW! I look forward to watching it every week – it keeps you on edge of seat and is comical at the same time – very entertaining! Please find a place for Whiskey Cavalier!
I love this show….should be renewed. If not, should be picked up by another network like CW or Fox.
Should be renewed and moved to a better time slot
Loved loved loved Whiskey Cavalier: action, comedy, high production values, cliffhangers. What’s not to love?
Great refreshing series. Should not have been cancelled. CW or someone pick it up please
Should not have been canceled…very entertaining, give it a chance…. hope it is picked up by another channel,
We hear that WC will be cancelled. Why? The banter is among the best of any spy tv show with very good lines. And we like the sexual tension between Will and Frankie. Her expressions are priceless. All that is needed is to tone down Standish a little more. His comic relief isn’t too good most of the time. Yes, he does have his moments. We hope the show will go to another channel.
Yes, it should be renewed! It is a very witty, action-packed, romantic, and adventure based drama that needs to have a bit more time to pick up speed and more followers.
Yes it should be renewed!
How can you renew some of the most inane shows abc has and then cancel the bright, witty, and timely shows that are filled with talented cast and smart writing? Boo on abc.
This show was absolutely adorable and I thoroughly enjoyed watching it. I think it’s time to stop watching network shows and start going onto cable stations to watch TV. They usually give a show more than just one season chance
I liked the show. There is so much reality crap. Actually edgy and comedic.
