A spin-off of the highly successful Cheers sitcom, this series follows divorced psychiatrist Dr. Frasier Crane from Boston to his hometown of Seattle, Washington.
His bachelor plans are complicated when his ex-police officer father, Martin (John Mahoney), needs to move in with Frasier because of an injury. They are joined by Martin’s dog Eddie (Moose), and live-in physical therapist Daphne Moon (Jan Leeves).
A frequent visitor to the apartment is Frasier’s younger brother Niles (David Hyde Pierce), a fellow snobby psychiatrist privately infatuated with Daphne. Frasier hosts a popular radio talk show produced by the ever-dating Roz Doyle (Peri Gilpin).
Episodes #263 & 264 — Goodnight, Seattle
The story begins with Frasier on a plane, recounting recent events to his seatmate. Frasier says goodbye to his girlfriend Charlotte (Laura Linney) as she leaves Seattle for a new job in Chicago. Frasier and Niles assemble a quick but elaborate wedding for Martin and Ronee (Wendy Malick). A heat wave, Daphne’s brothers, and Eddie swallowing the ring throw wrench in the proceedings. While they try to retrieve the ring at a nearby veterinarian, Daphne goes into labor and gives birth to Niles’ son, David. Ronee and Martin get married at the clinic, and Roz is promoted to station manager. With everyone else’s lives changing, Frasier decides to make a change of his own and accepts a TV host job in San Francisco. We see Frasier’s last KACL radio show broadcast with his friends and family looking on. After some emotional goodbyes, we return to the plane. It lands not in San Francisco but in Chicago. Frasier asks his seatmate to wish him luck.
First aired: May 13, 2004.
