What’s This TV Show About?
A WGN America crime thriller, 100 Code stars Dominic Monaghan, Michael Nyqvist, Felice Jankell, Charlotta Jonsson, Danilo Bejarano, Kristoffer Berglund, Peter Eggers, Hedda Stiernstedt, Roisin Murphy, Cecilia Hall, Martin Wallström, and Christian Svensson. The drama series unfolds in Stockholm, Sweden, as the authorities investigate the connection between the murder of young, blue-eyed, blonde women in the area and New York City. NYPD Detective Tommy Conley (Monaghan) is on loan to the Stockholm police and must work with local investigator Mikael Eklund (Nyqvist).
The 100 Code is a one-season mini-series so there won’t be a second season. Could there be a sequel? Stay tuned for further updates.
Telly’s Take
Since WGN stopped running their own original programming, in preparation for the Tribune Media sale to Sinclair, we no longer track their ratings. Still, Canadian and European series often have their first run on WGNA, and are well-received by the American audience, so I like to keep an eye on the programming, to see what is cancelled and renewed. 100 Code is one such show. This Swedish crime drama premiered in Germany in 2015. Since there has only been one season in all that time, we’re considering it a one-and-done mini-series. If it really takes off, a sequel isn’t impossible, so I will keep an eye on the traders and update this page with breaking developments. What do you think? If it were up to you, would WGN America bring 100 Code back for season two?
Love the show! Would love to see a second season!
There absolutely must be a second season. One of the top thrillers of all time
There absolutely must be a season two. One of the best thrillers ever.
If they didn’t intend for a sequel season, they shouldn’t have left the ending “open” with a shot of what looks like the killer having escaped to New York. We viewers should demand better than to be led along to an “open ending/no ending.”
One of the best crime/thriller programs seen. It is a shame … firstly, it was not shown in “prime time” … and, secondly, shown years ago when it had a chance to develop an American audience. I will miss not have the opportunity to more of the interaction among the “team” and a “conclusion” to the “search” for the killer.
One of the best crime/thriller series ever produced. Firstly, it should have been shown “prime time” and years earlier when it could have developed an American audience. I sincerely will miss the opportunity to see “the conclusion of the case.”
Hope we have another season.
There are already at least two more seasons already filmed from Sweden. Why not air them in America?
Hell yeah bring back 100 code . With all the crap reality shows being kept on 100 code was a great quality show we want more
Michael Nyqvist died, and Dominic Monaghan is already doing another show. 100 Code was made in 2014.
