2 Broke Girls aired for six seasons on CBS, and one of the creators of the series, Whitney Cummings, would love to revive the sitcom. She has ideas for what could come next for the characters played by Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs. The sitcom followed the lives of two waitresses and their co-workers and friends.
Per Us Magazine, Cummings said the following about the possibility of a revival of the CBS sitcom:
“I was actually talking to [fellow cocreater] Michael [Patrick King] — we were on a hike — about a musical, like, a Broadway musical or a reboot. I hope so. I would love it so much. Warner Brothers should do it, unless they hate money.”
As for the plot, a revival could see the friends at odds with one another. Cummings said the following about the plot of a 2 Broke Girls revival if it happened:
“I’m seeing a lot of friends of mine start companies and podcasts and stuff together, and then [it has] totally destroyed their personal relationship. I think Michael Patrick King might kill me, but one of my pitches would be that they start a business. Their cupcake business finally takes off … and then they have a money dispute. Or [fight over] is it 50/50, but I’m doing more than you and you hired that person. I would like to see their friendship get tested.”
What do you think? Are you a fan of 2 Broke Girls? Would you like to see the sitcom return in some form?
I would love to see them back on. I watch the old shows whenever I see them on.
Yes please bring the show back with all original characters. Love that show!
Yes I would love for there to be a reboot. I loved that show I was sad when it went off the air, please bring it back with all original characters.
I’m in! Hate the way the show ended. Love Max and Randy and she just had gotten proposed to. Caroline was finally in a good relationship. Definitely bring back the show with original cast, no damn musical.
I would like to see that. Their friend ship gets tested, but on some episodes, their friendship is stronger than ever. Have the regular characters along side them on every episode also.
of course yes, you owe us fan. cant keep the audiences hanging in mid air..
Please do was a huge fan and hated that it ended so abruptly. But if you reboot it, you have to get Beth behrs back somehow or it would not work.
I love 2Broke Girls watch re runs every day on my Xfinity Comcast Cable Channel here in Wash DC. I am in love with Kate Denning. Would love to see updated version on TV.
If you want this to happen. You’ll have to replace Beth Behrs
The show ratings were not that great during original run, syndicated versions are shown on overnights be cause that is where it can do the least harm. I wish we were talking about Mike & Molly that show had a lot of life left in it and still airs during prime spots in syndication.
How would that work if Beth is already on another show on the same network? If anything, I can imagine it as a limited series special – like a Christmas special.
I would also hate to see a show where friends’ relationship is torn apart. Seems counter to the type of shows we need today. If anything, I can imagine the business struggling and they are working to turn it around post-pandemic and come across a new big idea to save it – causing them to connect with all of their friends to save it.
Yeh, a revival of a show that is struggling in syndication – bad “dayparts”, late overnight showing on TBS – yeh, Warners would really want to pour money into that…
In this Day and Age the Girls are pretty Funny together it would be cool to see the Show again updated to the Times I hope they do it
As long as they bring back the hilarious Sophie character, I’m totally in!
Would I like to see it return? YES, YES, A THOUSAND TIMES YES!!!!
