This court won’t be back in session during the 2021-22 television season. CBS has cancelled the All Rise legal drama series so we won’t be seeing a third season.
All Rise stars Simone Missick, Wilson Bethel, Marg Helgenberger, Jessica Camacho, J. Alex Brinson, Lindsay Mendez, Ruthie Ann Miles, Lindsay Gort, and Audrey Corsa. The series follows the chaotic, hopeful (and sometimes absurd) world of those who work at a courthouse in Los Angeles. At the center of this drama series is Lola Carmichael (Missick), a recently appointed judge who was previously a highly regarded and impressive deputy district attorney. She depends on the counsel of people like her Deputy District Attorney Mark Callan (Bethel), Supervisory Judge Lisa Benner (Helgenberger), and pragmatic judicial assistant Sherri Kansky (Miles). Lola pushes the boundaries and challenges the expectations of what a judge can be and receives both support and pushback from those around her.
Airing on Monday nights, the second season of All Rise averages a 0.45 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.01 million viewers in the live+same day ratings. Compared to season one, that’s down by 27% in the demo and down by 26% in viewership. It’s one of the lower-rated scripted shows on CBS.
The cancellation follows a number of behind-the-scenes issues — including the departure of creator/showrunner Greg Spottiswood following misconduct allegations.
The de facto series finale will air on May 24th.
What do you think? Do you make a point to watch the All Rise TV series each week? Are you sorry that it’s been cancelled? Would you have tuned in for season three on CBS?
I cannot believe such a well done show is being cancelled. It was well directed, believable characters and dealt with real life. Tasteless, non thinking and ridiculous shows having taken over.
The show was intelligent, well written and well acted great stories. Very sad that all of these idiotic reality shows managed to stay afloat because of the young people who watch TV. I guess intelligent people don’t get to choose anymore.
I will miss this show. I always tried to watch it Mondays nights. I liked the cast & felt the topics were current & interesting. Also some thought provoking subjects.
I thought it was a great show, focusing on serious current issues.
Loved this show. I don’t usually watch crime/law shows but this one was different, I’m just sad to hear that its cancelled. I was anticipating the next season. Terrible decision to cancel.
I am upset this series is ending. I love that show. I look forward to Monday nights to watch it. I hope another station picks that show up.
I love this show and if I couldn’t watch it live I watched it later that night. I can’t believe such a good drama focusing on real people’s situations will be gone. Major disappointment CBS!!
Terrible decision! This is a great show, I’ve seen every episode. As usual a show driven by minority actors gets “the boot”. Some of the shows staying on are worthless, mid-numbing drivel – but a show like this gets cancelled. The television season makes no sense anymore, and now the cancellations make no sense either.
I am very bummed out! This was an excellent show and I loved watching it… I can’t believe some of the stupid things you leave on, or RENEW…, CBS, and you cancel this one… So sad
Watched every episode. Loved it! One of the better shows. So sad to hear it was cancelled.
I’m sad to see All Rise canceled. It not only gave credence to women, but also a balance of today’s issues.
I loved the show. I like legal shows. I like that there were so many women in prominent roles in the show. I liked all the characters! Don’t cancel!!
Interesting show, I would keep it at least another year , change the date
ALL RISE!!! I love this show! The cast is strong and it has heart! What is wrong with you for cancelling???
Loved this show!!
