It wasn’t a great start for the new series but Awake still outperformed the premieres of (essentially-cancelled) The Firm, and (cancelled) The Playboy Club, and Prime Suspect. If the show can stay at this level of ratings, it’s got a very good chance of being renewed for a second season. It’s amazing how poor a show’s ratings can be on NBC and still be one of the best rated shows on the network.
Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you like the Awake TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
Please don’t cancel this show I love it!
I may have missed a few episodes, but I want “Awake” to continue because of its unique “Twilight Zone”-like atmosphere. It’s nice for Isaacs to produce this series apart from “Brotherhood” on Showtime which lasted 3 seasons. There are mysteries yet to unravel involving his character & Capt. Harper’s (Laura Innes) control over his universe since the accident.
Too many idiots in this country. That’s why Awake will probably be cancelled. This is a great show that requires a little thinking (and actual “using your brain” a little bit). But since this country is populated with idiots, it doesn’t stand a chance.
I love this show, it keeps my attention from start to finish and often times later into the day because it makes me THINK! This is what TV is supposed to be like, engaging to the audience. With so many shows now a days dumbed down it is truly refreshing to see something with some brains behind it. I can’t wait to see what a 2nd (3rd and 4th…) season could bring.
Dear NBC, Please do not cancel Awake! It is such a smart show and very unique! I love the acting and the characters. I love how every episode is a different journey and how psychology plays into the whole show. I think others would like it to if you did more publicity for it or re-aired it somehow. I think Jason Isaacs is very believable in his role and that all the actors and actresses and staff treat the audience like intelligent people instead of numbers. If you want to know why people are watching The Walking Dead and other… Read more »
THIS Marlene loves Awake!!
Please renew it, NBC. It gets better with each episode. Re-run it during the summer and promote it better. It is the best new show you have. The right sponsors will want intelligent shows.
I will be so disappointed if this show isn’t renewed for a second season. It’s the best new show on television!
I’ll be so disappointed if this show doesn’t make it to Season 2. I’m still not over the cancellation of Chicago Code, which I thought was almost as well-acted as Awake.
Please keep it! It’s the only new show I watched this year. Love Jason Isaacs!
This is such a smart, and well written program. Please keep it on the air. I’ve told my friends and family about the program and they have enjoyed it as much as I do. It’s such an intelligent thought provoking series. There are so many storylines that are still yet to be told.
Brilliant idea! Without a doubt, a most clever ,fascinating, incredibly well written show. the intricate plot (clues solving crimes in both “dreams” ) Perfect casting. Sooo Intellectually enjoyable ,Please, please keep it on.
We love Awake, as do all our friends with an autistic child!!! Our child lives in two worlds and we are never sure which one is real or unreal for him. We live in two worldsevery day. This show challenges our mind and makes us think about how a life can have two realities!!
Awake is truly brilliant. I would be so upset to see such an enthralling and intellectually-written show go to the CBS trash. The portrayal of Isaac’s character in both worlds keep the show entertaining and refresh the audience into putting Isaac’s life into perspective. The best written show out there currently, I would be ashamed if CBS were to cancel this show. Such good actors, they all maintain to keep their raw history apparent in each episode. The writing on this show continues to amaze me, each week giving the characters more and more dynamic qualities which keeps it an… Read more »
