What’s This TV Show About?
A CBS competitive reality TV series, hosted by Julie Chen, Big Brother typically airs three nights a week — Wednesdays (veto), Thursdays (eviction), and Sundays. In the 20th season, the new contestants are: Steve Arienta, Sam Bledsoe, Haleigh Broucher, Kaycee Clark, Tyler Crispen, Bayleigh Dayton, Kaitlyn Herman, Winston Hines, Angel “Rockstar” Lantry, JC Monduix, Brett Robinson, Angela Rummans, Scottie Salton, Faysal Shafaat, Rachel Swindler, and Chris “Swaggy C” Williams.
Big Brother follows a group of people living together in a house outfitted with 94 HD cameras and 113 microphones, recording their every move 24 hours a day. Each week someone is voted out of the house. The last remaining Houseguest wins the grand prize of $500,000.
Season 20 Ratings
The Wednesday editions of 20th season of Big Brother averaged a 1.51 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 5.47 million viewers. Compared to Wednesday editions of season 19, that’s down by 20% and 14%, respectively.
The Thursday editions averaged a 1.49 in the demo with 5.34 million viewers. Compared to Thursday episodes from season 19, that’s down by 18% and 11%, respectively.
The Sunday editions averaged a 1.48 in the demo with 5.44 million viewers. Compared to Sunday episodes from season 19, that’s down by 17% and 11%, respectively.

Telly’s Take
Will CBS cancel or renew Big Brother for season 21? It has long been one of the best performing summertime shows on CBS, so unless it all falls apart this season, Big Brother is unlikely to be cancelled. We already know that a celebrity edition will air this winter. I’ll keep an eye on the Nielsens and update this page, as more ratings dating rolls in. We have watched since season 1. This season is boring. JC should have been removed by production for his actions. CBS should treat employees, including contestants the same if their actions are inappropriate. That being said, we will give the show another chance next season.
Love Big Brother. Have watched since season one. This is probably the only show I watch religiously during the summer. So much better then reruns that are going for usually the third time. Also enjoy the live feeds for BB.
Now that her husband won t be calling the shots, it will be interesting to see what happens to this as well as The Talk.
I wouldn’t know what to do without big brother…its my favorite show…there are so many things that can be done…like another allstars…or a couples allstar… and puts of other ideas…save big brother usa

I love big brother! This is the only show I watch faithfully. This season is one of my least favorites. Everyone is playing follow the leader. Hate to see Haliegh leave! Maybe someone in level 6 will give us some drama and vote to keep her! Would definitely stir things up and make it better to watch!!
Everyone has their opinion. I have every single season and never missed a show. I am 66 years old and enjoy watching how relationships build or do not build. I will even go further by saying it is my favorite show and hope it does not end anytime soon.
Big Brother needs to be cancelled!! 20 years too many the latest is worse than ever. I don’t understand how shows like this go on for decades all the while good shows are lucky to see 4 to 7 seasons max. Makes no sense.
The show should be canceled. It has steadily become a show of mean people and it no longer enjoyable. It also takes up three nights of programming. CBS could surely find shows that are more entertaining than a program that has become a shell of it’s former self.
I watch BB every season and enjoy some seasons more than others. I wish CBS would be as invested in the now cancelled Code Black.
The July 4th episodes made me not want to see more. Snakes and shocks that caused real pain? You have gone off the the what made this show so enjoyable. I used to look forward to it.
