It’s case closed on Big Sky. ABC has officially cancelled the series, eliminating chances for a fourth season.
A crime thriller series, the Big Sky TV series stars Katheryn Winnick, Kylie Bunbury, Dedee Pfeiffer, Jensen Ackles, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Reba McEntire, and J. Anthony Pena. Angelique Cabral, Rex Linn, Rosanna Arquette, Michael Malarkey, Luke Mitchell, Seth Gabel, Henry Ian Cusick, Anirudh Pisharody, and Madalyn Horcher appear in recurring roles. In the third season, private detective Cassie Dewell (Bunbury), undersheriff Jenny Hoyt (Winnick), and newly appointed sheriff Beau Arlen (Ackles) maintain order in Helena, Montana, with their investigative skills. The trio faces a formidable mystery when a local backcountry trip led by charismatic outfitter Sunny Barnes (McEntire) goes awry. No camper can be trusted and danger lurks around every jagged rock and gnarled tree.
Airing on Wednesday nights, the third season of Big Sky averaged a 0.25 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 2.28 million viewers in the live+same day ratings (includes all DVR playback through 3:00 AM). Compared to season two, that’s down by 18% in the demo and down by 12% in viewership. It was one of ABC’s lowest-rated scripted series compared to other shows on the network.
The show added 110% more viewers in the live+7 day ratings, but that was not enough to secure a fourth-season renewal.
The fourth season of 13 episodes (the show’s smallest season) finished airing in January.

I was looking forward to this show. I was looking at my list of remaining shows that I watch and it’s getting really short. And I’m really not interested much in any of the NCIS or whatever or any other hospital drama. If their goal is to have us subscribe to their streaming service then it’s a big NO from me.
ABC wouldn’t know a hit show if it bit them in the a$$!!!! They are a big joke! Look what they did to Dancing With The Stars! Big Sky was a good intense show. The problem with the ratings wasn’t the shows fault–it was ABC and jerking it around. First on Tuesday, then moved to Wednesday. Literally 60-70% of the shows I watch get canceled or end up in Limbo

A pity. Once again a real good show with a great cast gets canceled. We still have the books to read (a brand new book will be published soon) and are able to continue with more adventures of Cassie Dewell and the other characters. Maybe Netflix could save it like it did for Lucifer and Manifest. A petition should be opened to save the show. At least Joe Pickett from the same writer is having a second season.

This deserved cancellation. It’s been given three seasons and just never has been able to find a big audience.
It had a big audience on Tuesdays. Then like everything ABC does, they have to mess with it. Air 4 episodes, don’t show the 5th one for 4 weeks. People get frustrated and stop watching it. Look what they did to Dancing With The Stars? ABC is run by idiots!
Thanks a lot ABC for cancelling a great show. I’m so tired of getting invested in shows I look forward to watching only to find the TV big shots cancel them. I can think of shows on ABC that are definitely not worth watching.

I love the series Big Sky. I’ve been looking forward to season 3. I’m terribly disappointed! I hoped they reconsider or some other network picks it up. BUMMED!
