Not good news for the sophomore drama. Episode two dropped 18% in the demo to a 1.8 rating and 9.19 million viewers. It was in last place for the timeslot and is now the lowest-rated scripted series on the network. If you love the show, that’s not the position you want it to be in.
Season average: 2.0 demo with 9.3 million.
Episode 02-01: Tuesday, 9/20/11
Delany and company had a disappointing debut for their second season, attracting a 2.2 in the 18-49 demographic and 9.41 million viewers. It was in second place for the timeslot, narrowly beating NBC’s Parenthood. Compared to the series debut, Body of Proof was down 29% in the demo. Year-to-year, Proof was down just 5% when compared to now-cancelled Detroit 1-8-7 in the same timeslot.
Reference point: The 2010-11 season averaged a 2.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 11.13 million viewers.
Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.

Soften her character …. Or lose the rest of the male audience.
I love Body of Proof. The endings are always a surprise!
I really like Body of Proof. Good intriging stories with good potential character developement for all the characters on the show. I know the rating are pretty low but I hope ABC can give the show time to gain some ratings(maybe a different time slot). ABC has axed alot of shows I liked by not giving them a chance. Flashforward, the Forgotten were 2 shows that I thought should have been given more time. It disappoints me in how fast they cancel a show sometimes. It makes me not to want to even start watching a show for this reason.
Great show that should be retained. Another outstanding show “Detroit 187” perished in this time slot; particular following DWTS. Perhaps this fine show would be served by changing it to another time slot with a fantastic lead in. Besides the entertainment, there’s much people can learn from this show.
We all have favourite actresses and shows for various reasons. Entertainment is what we want. ABC, CBS etc. producers have the last word and often use personal abuse to judge. Because one such producer was quitting, he passed judgement on a show to be cancelled, deliberately. Dana Delany is attractive and lovely to look at, but the quality is not there. Despite low viewership, the show drags on while top shows get cancelled. Yes Dana Delany is hot, sexy. Sexier dresses and skirts maybe. Last week my DVR said that I was not allowed to record a single episode of the show because I was recording the series. Then when the show aired it didn’t record either. I record everything so I can fast forward and rewind as I see fit. (You can’t watch as many hours of tv as I do without doing that) It felt like the cable company didn’t want viewers to tune in. I love my Tivo. It doesn’t have restrictions like that, and recorded the show without any problems.
