Boston Blue has finally arrived on CBS, and the series premiere included an appearance by another Reagan family member – Erin Reagan Boyle, played by Bridget Moynahan.
Will viewers see more of the Reagan family pop up on the Blue Bloods spin-off series? Anthony Hemingway said the following about that in an interview with Deadline:
“With my executive producer hat on, let me say, the plan and concept, without spoiling anything, is to continue to find ways on intersecting and bringing back some of those beloved characters.
Bridget coming back was beautiful in so many ways. She was there to do what Blue Bloods was great at, and that’s representing family and how they stood for each other and by each other and supported each other. So, on Boston Blue she came at a very important moment in time in Danny Reagan’s life, where his world was cracking completely open. Also, for me, it was so nice as this was my first time working with her and Bridget was really awesome.”
Donnie Wahlberg, Sonequa Martin-Green, Ernie Hudson, Maggie Lawson, Gloria Reuben, Marcus Scribner, and Mika Amonsen star in the series, which follows Danny Reagan as he leaves NYC and takes a position with the Boston Police Department.
Boston Blue airs on Friday nights on CBS.

Not very good, tried to hard to be blue bloods with the family meal and all, needs to be its own show,

Why produce a weak program when the original has been proved better. The story line had to be produced by someone who was asked to develop a family just like the one from the old story but make it socially acceptable. I had problems just getting through the first showing and question if I could even get past the into for the next. Great actors, sorry the story line is questionable.

Why cancel a highly rated show, where cast wanted to continue, and replace it with a weak clone? Wahlberg is great, but the show is too WOKE, which Blue Bloods certainly wasn’t. Willing to bet it’ll be around only a fraction of the 14 years of Blue Bloods. The cameos only made me miss the original more.
Should have kept Blue Bloods not a spin off. Idiots.
Boston Blue was wonderful! Watched it twice already. Great it had a “hint” of Blue Bloods … would be nice to see more of that.
We watched, and loved it. The story is good, the characters are likeable, the acting is also great. We are hooked.
I loved Blue Bloods and now I’m going to thoroughly enjoy watching Boston Blue continue the series theme!!!!!
Thot the premiere was great … lots of story line, action, family, Danny Reagan (Donnie) at his best and Sonequa as well as Erin (Bridget) … the rest of the cast was perfect for the family interaction. Glad to see Gloria Reuben back in a regular role … thank you to the writers and show runners. Looking forward to more of the same … mahalo nui loa
I absolutely loved the episode! It held the family values of Blue Bloods, and included new but familiar faces in a fast paced and captivating show. I love Ernie Hudson and Marcus Scribner from their past roles in other shows and movies, so it was exciting to see them on Boston Blue! I really hope this show will take off like wildfire, and give other Blue Bloods fans a show to love for years to come!
Why not just move Danny back to NYC and restart BlueBloods?
It was really good. Injecting some of Blue Bloods cast was a nice touch.
