CHiPs aired on six seasons for NBC, and it will be back on the big screen in 2017. Deadline reported that Warners Bros has now set the release date for the revival. The feature film will star Dax Shepherd and Michael Pena as the duo Jon and Ponch. Fans of the franchise will be able to see the comedy film at a theater near them on August 11, 2017.
In addition, Daily Mail reported that the original actors behind Jon and Ponch, Larry Wilcox and Erik Estrada, reunited on Saturday at The Chiller Theatre Toy, Model and Film Expo in New Jersey. Robert Pine, the father of actor Chris Pine and star of CHiPs, also appeared at the event.
Larry Wilcox shared several photos from the event on his Facebook. Check out one below. Were you a fan of CHiPS? Will you check out the new film? Tell us what you think.
Can’t wait to see this one. Will Larry Wilcox, Robert Pine, or Brodie Greer etc have cameos? Love this show even though it may appear cheesy by today’s standards, it entertains me every evening on MeTV.
The show of Chips is my best movie in life. When I was little until now I love this show. I which I can meet those actor and actress to ask some question how they fell in front of the tv and have those autograph from them too. They did good job and I love there series.
