Does Scott’s plan work in the first season of the Council of Dads TV show on NBC? As we all know, the Nielsen ratings typically play a big role in determining whether a TV show like Council of Dads is cancelled or renewed for season two. Unfortunately, most of us do not live in Nielsen households. Because many viewers feel frustration when their viewing habits and opinions aren’t considered, we invite you to rate all of the first season episodes of Council of Dads here. *Status update below.
An NBC family drama, the Council of Dads TV show stars Sarah Wayne Callies, Clive Standen, J. August Richards, Blue Chapman, Emjay Anthony, Michele Weaver, Thalia Tran, Steven Silver, Michael O’Neill, and Tom Everett Scott. Scott Perry (Scott) is a loving father of five who has his entire life’s plan thrown into upheaval by an unexpected health scare. He and his wife, Robin (Callies), call on a few of their most trusted friends to step in as back-up dads to help guide and support his growing family – just in case he can’t be there to do it himself. They include Scott’s most loyal friend, Anthony Lavelle (Standen); Scott’s tough-love AA sponsee, Larry Mills (O’Neill); and Doctor Oliver Post (Richards), Scott’s dedicated oncologist and his wife’s dearest friend. Scott’s kids include adult daughter Luly (Weaver), son Theo (Anthony), son JJ (Chapman), and adopted daughter Charlotte (Tran). Together, this group discovers that there’s more to being a father than anyone could do alone — and more to being a family than they ever thought possible.

*6/26/20 update: Council of Dads has been cancelled so there won’t be a second season.
Council of Dads was a great show with lots of diversity just as society is today. I feel it did not get a fair run and 7 in the evening is the worst time slot. Getting home from work, fixing dinner and helping kids with their homework takes time. 8 or 9 would have received better reviews. Sure wish you would reconsider!
You keep some of the most tasteless and tacky series and infantile reality shows on–so sad! Then cancel a loving, thought provoking and often tear-jerking show. You have lost those of us that actually have a brain and feelings! PLEASE–RECONSIDER!
Renewed council of dads. Or another station Netflix pick it. Wholesome program
Please reconsider the cancellation of Council of Dads. The cast is perfect. Each is so believable that I feel like I actually know this family. It is just like the family at the end of every street. Beautiful, ugly, loveable, hated, perfect, flawed. This is reality TV. There is so much trash on tv and you are making a mistake cancelling such a great program. Ratings for all programming must be off due to COVID. Bring it back!!!!
I’m so very sad this show has been cancelled. It’s a wonderful, heart felt show.
Please bring it back!!!!
I cannot believe NBC is cancelling Council of Dad’s. It is so heartwarming with believable characters and good story line. So sad please carry on with it.
I saw the ad for it months ahead of time and had the DVR set up! I mostly caught it on time and watched live on DirecTV hope my canceling the episode cuz I was watching didn’t mess up the ratings! The show is completely different than anything else out there! Especially with today’s challenges it’s a feel good show but also one too cry! Last episode had me crying like a baby!
This show was too much. A list of dysfunctionals for shock value. How does a 6 year old know what gender he or she is, let he or she live a little longer to experience where he or she fits. This was for shock value. The show ran out of misfits.
Counsel of Dads is a great show and real. Once people start to watch you’re hooked. It’s like you’re going through life with them. So much better than all the crazy meanless shows on now.
I cannot believe they have cancelled this diverse and entertaining show!!!!! There is too much “reality” junk on that is a total waste of brain cells by watching them. PLEASE reconsider & bring this and other family shows back.
I can’t believe your cancelling Council of Dads it’s awesome you didn’t even give it a chance . I’m very disappointed with so much crap on tv this was a great family show
Great ratings, great writing, excellent show and cast. And its…. cancelled anyway. Many of us are getting afraid to even turn on the 3 or 4 good old boys Networks anymore due to fear of dedicating ourselves to a show just to see it cancelled for absolutely NO LOGICAL REASON. Our opinion doesn’t matter, count, or make it to anyone that listens. So why bother anymore? Come on! The staff and actors also deserve better than this. Bluff City Law was very good also. I am soooo tired of seeing these Ninja and or other swinging playgrounds for adult shows.… Read more »
I agree with everything you said I hate these activity live game shows, competition shows, dating shows, their senseless brainless and ignorant. they cancelled the good programs like Lincoln rhyme, bluff City law, and council of dads. Those were all great programs I don’t watch that other garbage it’s just ridiculous that they think people like that stuff and it’s on every channel now. Bring back the dramas but canceling the stuff that people really watch. at least the people that are over 30 years old or 49 years old. All that’s on now is either game shows or bad… Read more »
You said all the words for me thanks
I loved this show, the friendships and love between the characters felt so real. I was nearly drawn to tears with many of the episodes. I hate that the show is being cancelled. Seems like only the shows with low budget gimmicks are retained. Please rethink cancelling this show.
C’mon NBC RENEW THIS SHOW!!! I love this show. The writing is honest and shows how life is both sad and happy but still beautiful. I love how the characters are there for each other. The writing is so honest and heartfelt and the actors do such a wonderful job. I love how the show has me laughing one minute and crying the next. It pulls at your heartstrings. Everyone should have a family who supports each other through thick and thin as this family does.
Such a great show, Council of Dads is what we need especially now!!! Hopefully another network will pick it up!! Just as good as This Is Us!! Bring it back!!
