This will be the first full season of Dallas without Larry Hagman’s JR Ewing. Can the cast and producers continue to draw viewers and solid ratings without their quintessential bad guy? Will the new Dallas be cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Stay tuned to find out.
Airing on Monday nights, Dallas continues to follow the machinations of the dysfunctional and powerful Ewing clan. The cast includes Josh Henderson, Jesse Metcalfe, Jordana Brewster, Julie Gonzalo, Brenda Strong, Patrick Duffy, Linda Gray, Mitch Pileggi, Emma Bell, Kuno Becker, and Juan Pablo Di Pace.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.
Final season averages: 0.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 1.92 million total viewers.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Reference point: The second season of the new Dallas averaged a 0.8 demo rating and 2.67 million viewers.
Cable ratings are typically released within a day or so of the show’s airing, except for in the case of weekends and holidays. They are sometimes harder to come by so there may be occasional delays or gaps.
What do you think? Do you still like the Dallas series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a fourth season?
Update: TNT has cancelled Dallas after three seasons. Details here.
Monday night is wrong for the show. Put it on Wednesdays, from Memorial Day thru Labor Day and it will do just fine. Season 4 should delve into a “new” offspring sired by JR Ewing, who comes to Dallas and claim his fortune, scewing up John Ross in the process. Bring back Donna and Ray for a 4 episode arc storyline too.
Dallas gets better and better with excellent writing and excellent acting. The casting director deserves kudos, also. This is an intelligent, spot-on cast with the right twists and suspense. Please listen to the faithful viewers and renew this “off the chain” series.
Dallas needs a season 4. PLEASE, please bring Dallas back in 2015. Linda Gray and Patrick Duffy are excellent. Ken Kercheval is wonderful (even though his character isn’t!). Judith Light is fun, but not as a madame of a brothel. Get rid of the threesomes and make it about the EWINGS, SOUTHFORK, and EWING GLOBAL (formerly Energies; formerly Oil). Bring back more veteran actors for the rich past of Dallas. We need MORE Joan Van Ark (Valene Ewing) and Ted Shackelford (Gary Ewing) and Charlene Tilton (Lucy Ewing). I would also like to see Katherine Wentworth. No more recasts of… Read more »
I agree that we need to see e need more of the original cast such as Joan Van Ark (Valene Ewing) and Ted Shackelford (Gary Ewing) and Charlene Tilton (Lucy Ewing). Even Afton Cooper , Pam’s Mom) would be a nice addition. We have even seen less of The Ewing’s number one enemy Cliff (Ken Kercheval). Seeing him for maybe two or three minutes of the show does not bring back the original flavor. In my humble opinion, the writers should setup a webpage for suggestions from loyal fans and use that as a basis for their episodes, and PLEASE… Read more »

My husband and I love this show. . . great writers, great actors. Please, please have a Season 4.
I grew up watching Dallas with my parents. My mother and I were thrilled when we found out that it would be returning to television. We have enjoyed all three seasons and we hope it will continue. #weloveDallas #can’tgetenoughEwings
I sincerely hope that the show will continue. I really think that moving the show to another night, such as a Tuesday or Wednesday would increase ratings. Mondays are a really bad time because you have people who are engaged with the WWE (not me) and other sport events such as Monday Night Baseball or Football and this definitely has an impact on viewer ratings. Example: WWE starts at 8pm, as does Monday night baseball or football. People are already engaged watching that, and I am sure that most will not turn that channel to TNT. They don’t know what… Read more »
AGREE!! Monday night is horrible! I think, psychologically, people are exhausted from the first day back at work and may be overwhelmed by the week ahead (though I guess you could say the same for Sunday nights). My *own* choice would be Thursday nights, simply because Friday night is when a lot of (especially young) people go out and let loose. Thursday is that “it’s almost Friday!” mindset. Obviously, old Dallas hit its stride on Friday nights, but I think people’s short attention spans and need for instant gratification might make Friday nights a poor choice for turning in early… Read more »
I will throw a dying duck fit if it is not renewed…it is GREAT TV!!!!!
Please renew Dallas. It is the best new show on and has you sitting on the edge of your seat every episode. great actors and great writers
the best way to keep advertisers happy with shows that pickup alot of dvr viewers is product placement during the show. Dallas has done this boldly in previous seasons and should do it more. it picks up alot of viewers in dvr live + 7
This is the BEST tv show by far. I am grateful that it is back on.. Please renew for a 4th season!!! Also try to bring back Victoria Principal! 🙂
My wife and i enjoy watching the show and the characters evolving. We hope it stays on for season 4.
This has always been one of my favorite shows! I watched the old Dallas and the new is just as good. I can’t wait each week to see what’s going to happen next!! Please renew for a next season. There are so many die hard Dallas fans and we WILL keep watching!!
This is my favorite show. I hope they renew it. There is so much to every episode and there is nothing else like it. I think the whole cast is excellent. I have it set on my DVR. I believe that with the off schedule and lack of advertising it causes the drop in ratings. It is still excellent with great story lines. Please, please keep it on the air! Advertise it, please!
