This will be the first full season of Dallas without Larry Hagman’s JR Ewing. Can the cast and producers continue to draw viewers and solid ratings without their quintessential bad guy? Will the new Dallas be cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Stay tuned to find out.
Airing on Monday nights, Dallas continues to follow the machinations of the dysfunctional and powerful Ewing clan. The cast includes Josh Henderson, Jesse Metcalfe, Jordana Brewster, Julie Gonzalo, Brenda Strong, Patrick Duffy, Linda Gray, Mitch Pileggi, Emma Bell, Kuno Becker, and Juan Pablo Di Pace.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.
Final season averages: 0.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 1.92 million total viewers.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Reference point: The second season of the new Dallas averaged a 0.8 demo rating and 2.67 million viewers.
Cable ratings are typically released within a day or so of the show’s airing, except for in the case of weekends and holidays. They are sometimes harder to come by so there may be occasional delays or gaps.
What do you think? Do you still like the Dallas series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a fourth season?
Update: TNT has cancelled Dallas after three seasons. Details here.
I keep looking but I can’t find any great shows to watch. Sometimes I wonder if I could go for days not watching a tv program. Gee, I’d miss fake news and all these bad shows that are on. Makes me wonder if I’ll miss anything…probably not. Only a show like Dallas would keep me entertained. These networks just don’t get it.
So far, not impressed with what’s on tv. I have no choice but to plan my withdrawal from tv. It will be a slow process but there’s nothing on tv keeping me interested. Enjoying Dallas would have been a keeper. But the rest? C’mon.
If the stars of Dallas ever want to do a movie, I’ll bet it would be well received. But I’m afraid the networks don’t want anything on better than The Big Fig Theory. Anything that can support a commercial (and no better) is probably their motto. ahhhhh
May the stars of Dallas have happy lives. Their contribution to the great show Dallas will be forever great performances that we will always remember. If they never grace the Dallas screen again, they were the best. One can only hope there will be a movie or something from them. One can hope.
I miss Dallas. It was my favorite show. It was a lot of peoples favorite show. It was not replaced with anything worth viewing. This is why TV is going downhill.
Dallas is missed. The days of Dallas were even better than today. Then, you could watch a great show for many episodes a season. Simple, right? The networks screwed this up. Spread too many channels too thin with too many commercials.
This is greed pure and simple. The crud we have to watch now is brought to us from them. The good stuff is gone. How nice, huh?
Dallas will always be held in high regard. Dallas was a show that was popular and graced our screens before the greed-aholics took over. The apparent insanity that has taken over this nation is only fanned by these people. These people need some oxygen IMO.
Will tv ever be good again? These garbage shows that pollute the over populated spectrum have really ruined tv. They’re there for the commercials. This is the greed that has destroyed tv. This is what cancelled Dallas. If these people cared for anything more than the buck, they’d have some decent shows on. Instead they spread the garbage shows out to sell more commercials. Apparently Dallas doesn’t fit this scenario.
It must drive the ad people nuts that we can fast forward their commercials. I do it with absolute pleasure. Bip, bip, and it’s gone ha ha ha. That’s about all I can do to fight these people who have taken away my favorite show…DALLAS. I’d bet that if fast forward didn’t exist, tv would be dead as a door nail…kaput!
Another bad weather day and zip to watch. All these channels and so little to watch. But there’s a large supply of commercials isn’t there? That’s where it’s at, folks, commercials are the show. The networks care about nothing else. A good show is down the line somewhere. Like Dallas was kicked out. Probably because it cost more than a commercial.
Yeah, Ever wonder why Dallas has not appeared as reruns since it was cancelled? Does it take a crystal ball to figure it out? They’re afraid to have egg on the network bosses faces for cancelling Dallas. Even Dallas reruns would creme the shows they have now in the ratings. Such arrogance, such stupidity, such controlling power to manipulate. So sad, these corupt people.
Bad weather most everywhere. Gotta stay in. Hmmm what’s on the tube? Bummer…not much. Not even a Dallas rerun. They keep those off because it would swamp the ratings of the crud shows.
Super Bowl commercials weren’t worth my time at all. Neither was gagga. Hard to top that game though. JR would have approved. I would have recorded the SB and watched Dallas gladly though.
Well, Super Bowl day. The ONLY time you would ever watch ads. Of course, I will still use FF to get past gag-ga girl. Would rather be watching Dallas though…
Really ticks me off that they cancelled Dallas. Yet the shows that are on now aren’t watched by anyone. They never take ratings on these shows because they’re just garbage shows to act as filler for the ads. Yes, ads are the thing for network people. Ads, ads, ads. If you’re going to rain ads on us, at least put something on that’ll make us watch for cry’n out loud.
