What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the ABC television network,Emergence stars Allison Tolman, Alexa Swinton, Owain Yeoman, Ashley Aufderheide, Robert Bailey Jr., Zabryna Guevara, Donald Faison, and Clancy Brown. It takes place in Peconic Bay on Long Island, New York. In the series, Jo Evans (Tolman) is a newly divorced police chief and the mother of a teenage daughter named Mia (Aufderheide). Jo ends up taking in a young child named Piper (Swinton) who is found at the site of a mysterious accident and she has no memory of what happened. Jo’s investigation into the child’s mystery draws her into a conspiracy that is larger than she could have imagined. A series of bizarre electronic disruptions, unexplained forces, and a strange cryptic symbol are also all tied to the young girl. Other characters include: Jo’s father, Ed (Brown), who’s also battling cancer; Jo’s concerned ex-husband and Bree’s father, Alex Evans (Faison); investigator Benny Gallagher (Yeoman); Chris Minetto (Bailey Jr.), a police officer; and Jo’s best friend, Abby Frasier (Guevara), a pediatrician.

Will ABC cancel or renew Emergence for season two? The ratings have been dropping and weren’t all that great to start. The show does better in delayed viewing but I have doubts that that will be enough to save Emergence from being cancelled. I’ll update this page with breaking developments. I adore this show. Tolman and the others are perfect for their roles. The storyline is intelligent and makes one care about the characters. Please please don’t cancel this great program.
I would love for them to renew Emergence. Me and my husband benge watched the 1st season and loved it. I’m gonna be very upset if they cancel it.
My husband loved Emergence and after a couple of weeks, got me interested. However, we never knew if it was going to be on. ABC was always pushing it off for some special that just couldn’t wait. We finally gave up trying to figure out if we should look for it to be on or not. ABC has no one to blame but themselves if Emergence is cancelled.
Please please don’t cancel Emergence!! I just binged it on Hulu and I can’t get enough!!
How in the world could this get cancelled? It’s so good for too many reasons to count. And most of them have been stated by others in this thread. Please please don’t leave us hanging.
Please do not cancel emergence!!! I’m hooked on the series. I would fall into depression if abc cancelled Emergence

I would be extremely irritated if Emergence is cancelled. Why is it that all the good interesting shows get cancelled and shows like Shameless, and Ugly Betty stay on for years. I have always disliked sit-com kind of shows that are like fake reality shows with an inane twist. Not even funny or entertaining to me. I believe a lot of the shows that stay on are for people that don’t have a “real” life so they get involved with these lives that are weird in an over-dramatic way. I also agree – Like Netflix cancelled Travelers. They seem to keep the dumb sitcoms and reality TV and dump the great shows! PLEASE RENEW EMERGENCE!
Allison Tolman was outstanding as a police officer in one of the Fargo series on FX. Not surprised she got this chance. I like the show and hope the story will continue to be interesting.
This show was great.. FINALLY something new that’s not the same old stale predictable sit coms, or another Dr., Lawyer, Cop, Firefighter, Detective , etc.. drama.
please have a second season. Like the actors. really interesting. Clean and just good to watch.
I love this show! I find it very intriguing with the twists and turns. I feel the audience is treated like we have some brains. The characters are a bit twerky which fits the plot perfectly. I think the acting is superb.
I really hope it is renewed so I am not stuck forever at that gas station wondering what the hell is going to happen next!

Get rid of Allison Tolman what a boring character, the show will be a hit with someone else as the main lead
Disagree – I like having a female lead who’s bright and complex and who is not a perfect 10 with long blond hair and designer clothes. Tolman was great in Good Girls and she’s perfect for this show, which needs all the touches of realism it can get.
Ridiculous.. She’s perfect in the roll.., realistic, witty and deceptively smart.
HIGHLY DISAGREE! Allison Tolman is PERFECT in this part. Her motherly instinct coupled with her law enforcement knowledge mix perfectly when she is dealing with Piper. She has a quirky sense of humor and a way with people that is unique in all of TV. Nobody else could bring the charisma of her part out but Allison Tolman!
