FBI: Most Wanted is losing one of its regulars ahead of its fifth season premiere. Alexa Davalos (above, right) will not return as a series regular next season. The news may shock series viewers because there was no hint that Davalos was leaving the series in the season four finale. It sounds like it was a surprise for the actor as well.
Dylan McDermott, Roxy Sternberg, Keisha Castle-Hughes, and Edwin Hodge also star in the CBS series, which follows those that work in the FBI’s Fugitive Task Force.
Davalos joined the series as Special Agent Kristin Gaines at the start of season three as a replacement for Kellan Lutz. According to one report, a producer informed Davalos that she wouldn’t be back for season five after filming her final scene of season four. The conversation and her departure were reportedly amicable.
This is the latest of several departures from the series. In addition to Lutz, series regulars Miguel Gomez, YaYa Gosselin, Nathaniel Arcand, and Julian McMahon have all left the show over the past four seasons. As with all Wolf Entertainment series, cast turnover is often driven by financial and/or creative reasons.
It is unknown when the series will return (due to the ongoing actors and writers strikes) or if Davalos will return to wrap up her character’s arc, per Deadline. Season five has not yet been written due to the current WGA strike.
The premiere date for FBI: Most Wanted season five will be announced later.
What do you think? Are you sad to hear that Davalos is leaving FBI: Most Wanted? Do you hope that she returns to wrap up her character’s storyline?
I stopped watching regularly after Julian McMahon left. I’ve checked in on rare occasions but don’t like Dylan McDermott’s character, although I do quite like the actor in other roles. The other two FBIs are fabulous and I even watch their reruns. Missy is my favourite!
Very Disappointed
Too many changes can be a bad thing as it will often be annoying and this is not a good sign. Julian McMahon leaving was rather surprising and although I love Dylan McDermott, his character is too OTT aggressive for longer periods and there needs to be a little less intensity applied. It is still a good show though. On a side note, talking of OTT, Jeremy Sisto’s character in the main show needs to stop shouting at his office staff so vociferously as I could imagine such behaviour being anything other than intensely annoying and counter productive to efficiency… Read more »
Boooo! I liked her
So many people leaving or getting fired from the show. I wonder what is happening behind the scenes. Probably nothing good.
If they need to get rid of someone it should be Roxy Sternberg. I have nothing against the actress but her character brings nothing to the show.
Wow I thought she was the best out of all the cast guess I will stop watching shame !!!
That sucks. She was one of my favorite characters on the show. Every time I turned around everybody is leave the show. But they have to do what they gotta do. I will definitely miss her a lot.
No news then.
It’s actors telling a story.
International is the best one.
Just cannot get into the others.
Too many similar shows to choose from.
I think Davalos is the best thing about the show. The people in charge will regret dumping her.
I’m ok with Davalos leaving. It never seemed like she was the right fit for that role. That said, I’d prefer she stick around and they let Dylan McDermott go. He is WAY over the top for me. Too angry as this character.
Yes very sad she was my favorite on the show since Julian McMahon left.
I liked the first season of FBI Most Wanted. Second was okay, but then I was out. Dylan McDermott is 61 with his died hair, and baddest man on the planet act. It totally falls flat and is unwatchable. FBI International is the best one.
I loved her in The Man in the High Castle. However, she always seemed uncomfortable in this role. I think it was time for her to go.
Sad to see her go, she was the only reason left to watch the show after the death of the central character. But it definitely seems like the writers didn’t know what to do with her character in most episodes this past season.
FBI is what I was watching
Thank goodness Davalos is leaving! She was not suited for this role at all.
So true
