TBS is all about the laughs these days. While Turner comedies don’t pull the same kind of ratings successful broadcast network TV shows earn, one of their top performers in the 18-49 year old demo is Seth MacFarlane’s American Dad. Now they’re introducing a new, quirky animated series, the Final Space TV show. Does it have the star power to draw an audience, or will it drift off into the unknown? Will Final Space be cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned.
A serial sci-fi sitcom from creator Olan Rogers, Final Space centers on Gary (Rogers), who has been imprisoned upon the Galaxy One for five years.The TBS voice cast also includes Fred Armisen, Tom Kenny, David Tennant, Tika Sumpter, Steven Yeun, and Coty Galloway. While working off his sentence, Gary meets a green alien, Mooncake (also voiced by Rogers). What Gary doesn’t realize is that his cute little buddy is a planet destroyer — wanted by the evil Lord Commander (David Tennant). **Status update below.

When I saw this show I was, to be honest, not expecting it to be very good and was very wrong. Final Space is a nice reprieve from the normal programming the wide world of television has to offer. From a innovative, strong story-line to deep, well developed characters Final Space has something for every age group. When you add to that the uniquly awsome art and consistent, genuinely funny jokes you have your-self a recipe for a seasons 2 and 3 at least, maybe even more. Definitely renew this show. Would we sad to see it pulled
This is hands down the coolest show since Futurama! I love this show! It definitely should be renewed for season 2. Mooncake is my favorite character ever and the plot is heartwrenching and well thought out. I think that the online purchasing might be a better metric for how this show is doing rather than tv views. I don’t have cable, but definitely bought this online soon after I watched the first few episodes for free from TBS’ website.
It takes a special kind of show to make me want to actually spend money on it to increase the odds of a return. Final Space is that show. The last series I was able to watch over and over without it loosing value was Futurama, so I totes agree!
Final Space keeps getting better. This is the type of storytelling other science fiction series only dream they could be. But I can’t help but think that releasing new episodes a week early online and on demand are undercutting its ratings.
I know a lot of folks who went and bought this on iTunes and are watching it on iTunes after Olan told everybody on his YouTube channel that they could buy it there. I bought it there and I get to watch it one week a head of it playing on tv. So when episode six plays I’m on episode seven as example. I love it. And I know a lot of others who do too. I LOVE Final Space!! One of the very best shows currently on the air. I’m very impressed with Olan Rogers’ storytelling style. As soon as an episode ends, I can’t wait to see another. Deep, intelligent and all around amazing show. More please!! There is plenty here to explore for several seasons, easily.
final space Is a seriously funny and wonderful show. I love the back and forth between Hugh Gary and Kevin. It has a great cast and lots of inside jokes. I really hope they seriously consider picking up another season
