What’s This TV Show About?
A British-American Hulu drama, The First stars Sean Penn, Natascha McElhone, LisaGay Hamilton, Hannah Ware, Keiko Agena, Rey Lucas, James Ransone, Anna Jacoby-Heron, Melissa George, Brian Lee Franklin, and Oded Fehr. The story centers on the astronaut crew attempting to be the first humans on Mars, as well as the families they’ll leave behind.
The First has been cancelled so there won’t be a second season. Could it be revived someday? Stay tuned for further updates.

Unless they decide to publicize viewership statistics, it is difficult to predict whether Hulu will cancel or renew The First for season two. While there are positive reviews, many note that this is not the type of fare sci-fi fans may expect. Will that help or hurt its chances? Stay tuned. Please definitely continue. It’s a hit in my family. Love the narratives and it’s about time we have a sensible near-term sci-fi. Well done and good acting. Definitely want to keep this going. When will the next season be released?

It’s about time they make a series like this. Hulu needs to renew season 2 and 3 it’s a great show
“The First” is light-years beyond any previous series or film purporting to be about space. It has realism, heart and a sense of proportion about what it shows us. This is the finest space-related television product since I started watching television 60 years ago.

I kept telling my husband its symbolic. Putting pieces together one at a time, trying over and over til you get it right. Eventually you do get it right and it becomes a gateway to living life at a greater capacity and thrusting you into the great unknown. Just my thoughts.

Just another family melodrama using a trip to Mars as a background story. Meh. Too slow, too much… well, -everything- except for Mars.
I agree. Can’t see Hulu wasting a lot of millions on overpaid actors in a series renew that puts one to sleep. When they get to Mars, they will just bring back more rocks, wasting more billions, or is it trillions?
