It looks like Flip or Flop isn’t sticking around after all. According to E!, the HGTV series is scheduled to end in 2017.
Earlier, we reported the home renovation show would continue despite the recent separation of married hosts Tarek and Christina El Moussa. The series is currently in its seventh season.
While the Moussas released a statement saying the show would continue, it seems this doesn’t mean the show will have several more seasons. An inside source to E! says the couple is contractually obligated to film more episodes in the new year and after that, Flip or Flop will end.
HGTV has not officially announced a cancellation. In a statement to E!, the network said production will continue on Flip or Flop as scheduled:
We admire and appreciate Tarek and Christina’s great work on Flip or Flop. When it comes to matters related to their own family, we respect their privacy and honor any decision that works best for them and their children. HGTV is currently airing episodes of Flip or Flop and the series will continue production as scheduled.”
What do you think? Are you a fan of Flip or Flop? Are you sad to see the series end?
Yes, I am sad that Flip or Flop is ending… I liked the show.
I think there should be a new show with Tarek, and a NEW designer. What man wouldn’t loose control when another man tries to move in and take over, and right after (?) a new child arrives!

Wish it would continue. The husband is a jerk but someone has to be.
I think it is time to let some other talent take over some coveted time slots. Divorce is hard on everyone, particularly children and frankly, it would probably be a good idea for cameras to idle a while and allow the Moussas to adjust to their new lives. So many other new shows could then be produced and frankly, it would be a breath of fresh air! Make room for more House-to-Home; My Flippin’ Friends; Listed Sisters; Restored by the Fords; Masters of Flip and Good Bones (YAY! they’re nearly back on!) and Big Beach Builds. I am a big fan of the show. I read some of the comments. As for Christina, she had classy taste, her design style and fashion represented what the show was all about ( taste and style). I hate to see the show leave the air, but it is difficult to see the couple pretending when you can feel and see the tension between the two of them. Right now what is important is that this awful situation will not affect their children.

It should be canceled, how can you view a show based on lies. You cannot get passed the ackwardness between the two.
I like the premise of the show, but have always been bothered by Christina’s “Barbie-doll” wardrobe and make-up choices. She just has always appeared to me to be very “high maintenance.” The ridiculous fake eyelashes, constant choice of tank tops, high heels with leggings are just not professional looking. She seems more interested in showing off her figure than really working. Plus she always wastes tons of money on stupid “design choices” that could be accomplished with creativity rather than overpriced materials. You’re usually always better off with REAL WOOD if you truly want to appeal to buyers, forget laminate.… Read more »
She’s the star ,designer brains of the show . He’s weird and out there ….somewhere out in space ! GIVE HER A SHOW AND PEOPLE WILL DEFINITELY WATCH HER SHOW !!
Sorry, Jay – unless Christina agrees to hire a diction coach to rid her of her nasally voice, there is a chance people would WATCH her show but like my husband and I when we watched “Flip or Flop” – we’d hit the mute button. Her voice was similar to fingernail scraping down a blackboard.
Totally agree with you, Connee. I can’t believe anyone can stand to listen to her voice. Sorry, that sounds mean but it’s not meant to be. She has talent but her voice grates on my nerves too.
Cancel it. Christina is not a designer, no matter what she thinks. Everything is grey and white. And her voice gets on people’s nerves.
Yes. Very sad to see it end! I think that hgtv should replace it with Masters of Flip, which they never air. What’s up with that?
It’s too bad they couldn’t be more professional, like the Property Brothers. The show was fun to watch, but I don’t want to deal with their family drama. I have my own.
I always was uncomfortable watching this show. Christina was stiff and plastic looking in front of the camera and her voice grated. Add that to the fact that I felt her designs did not always hit the mark and it made me only watch when there was nothing else. She messed up their chance to improve future programs. HGTV, however messed up when they continues to air those horribly painful holiday ads over and over. The ads just underlined that the whole show was totally fake and put me off the entire deal.
I agree about Christina being plastic. She is not a designer and maybe that’s why they always hired people to stage the homes. I don’t think her contribution was value added. I am disappointed watching the rehersed phony episodes.
I want to know what this boyfriend looks like?!!!!!!
