TV show description:
From creator Paul William Davies, the For the People TV show is a Shondaland legal drama. The story unfolds at “The Mother Court,” i.e. the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.
The series centers on six accomplished attorneys, who work on both sides of the law. Whether they represent the defense or the people, these young lawyers ply their trade trying some of the most publicized cases, and in federal court, the stakes can be sky high.
Public defenders Sandra Bell (Robertson) and Allison Adams (Brown) are best friends. They work for Federal Public Defender Jill Carlan (Davis), along with their colleague, Jay Simmons (Keesh).
Their opponent, Roger Gunn (Shenkman), serves as the chief of the Criminal Division in the United States Attorney’s Office. Gunn oversees prosecutors Seth Oliver (Rappaport), Leonard Knox (Page) and Kate Littlejohn (Flood).
Their arguments are heard by Judge Nicholas Byrne (Curtis-Hall), who presides over some of the most controversial cases before the court. Meanwhile, Clerk of Court Tina Krissman (Smith) makes sure everyone stay in line.
As their lives overlap outside of court, as well as at work, these young lawyers will face some of the biggest personal and professional challenges of their careers, at the most prestigious trial court in the U.S.A.
Series Finale:
Episode #20 — A Choice Between Two Things
On Election Day, Jay turns to Kate and the team for help after his parents and other voters are illegally intimidated at their polling place. Meanwhile, Roger and Jill’s relationship is at an impasse when Sandra learns that they are romantically involved and challenges Jill’s judgment. Elsewhere, Seth gets assigned to the case of a lifetime, but his anxiety increases when he is appointed a bodyguard to help protect him, all while Sandra and Ted take their relationship up a notch on the season finale of “For The People,” THURSDAY, MAY 16 (10:00-11:00 p.m. EDT), on The ABC Television Network, streaming and on demand.
First aired: May 16, 2019.
What do you think? Do you like the For the People TV series? Should this TV show have been cancelled or renewed for a third season on ABC?
We love this show. I should have continued!
great show hope it continues
RENEW!!!!!!!
I really enjoyed this television show and hope that it comes back. I am waiting for Season 2 to roll out. When ?? I miss it.
I love this show. It’s outstanding and in my opinion right up there with the original Law & Order. This could be a huge hit given time.
OK why is it when totally AWESOME shows come along, which isn’t often, they decide to cancel the series? You HAVE TO renew the series
Please don’t cancel this show. It’s a different twist to a lawyer show. I really like it a lot!
The show is awesome! I thought it was one the best new shows on TV last season. I hope to see many, many seasons! The characters are all great and I love the cases and the competition between the defense and the prosecution!
I think it’s one of the best new shows in quite some time — I hope they renew it!
this is a great show wish there were more like it
I think the show is quite good. I save all shows until the last episode and then binge watch. My BIGGEST COMPLAINT is the background music. Perhaps that’s not the correct description. The music played during the show. IT’S GOD AWFUL! Why do people believe that the viewers want to listen to that crappy “current music?” I watched the series but found myself muting it on a regular basis. Also, it’s far too loud. This is an issue with most tv shows. It drowns out what’s going on, some people like my grandparents can’t follow the dialogue. I’m a young… Read more »
You are completely right – so many shows have added this music – it is annoying!!!!
How many new shows can captivate me? Not many but this makes the cut. Hope it survives. Want to see what’s next.
Finally a show that assumes we have brains. Excellent female roles. Smart and current. Great dialogue. Please keep it going.
This is a pretty good show. Like the character development. Believable. Would really like to see this show continue.
I hope this show is not cancelled. It’s dialogue is feast and funny when you least expect it, it’s story lines are socially and morally prevalent and the cast is perfect, both the regulars and the guests. Keep it going, please.
So glad this wasn’t cancelled. Really liked this show. Please don’t cancel
