ABC is still trying to fill that Tuesdays at 10pm timeslot. Many ABC shows have been given that timeslot and they’ve all been cancelled — Killer Women, Body of Proof and Lucky 7, to name just a few. So, how’s the new Forever TV show doing? Will it break the trend or be cancelled as well?
On the Forever TV show, New York City’s star medical examiner is Doctor Henry Morgan (Ioan Gruffudd). He can ascertain things that most can not because of his vast experience — he’s been alive for 200 years but can’t figure out how or why. The rest of the cast includes Alana de la Garza, Lorraine Toussaint, Donnie Keshawarz, Joel David Moore, and Judd Hirsch.
The series got off to an okay start, following the season premiere of Dancing with the Stars on a Monday night. It attracted a 1.7 rating with 8.59 million viewers. The following night, in its permanent timeslot, the demo rose slightly but viewership dropped.

In week two, the ratings tumbled to a 1.4 in the demo with 5.69 million. In week three, they fell even lower and last week’s installment hit new lows with a 1.1 demo rating and 4.81 million viewers.
Just four weeks into the season and this show is already in serious trouble. ABC needs a successful show to fill the Tuesdays at 10pm timeslot and it’s clear that Forever isn’t the answer to their prayers. It’s unlikely that they’ll order any installments beyond their initial 13 episode order.
Will all of the episodes air? I suspect that ABC will release the six remaining episodes — probably before the holidays. The network may find other programming to air in the Tuesdays at 10pm timeslot during at least some of November sweeps however.
Either way, unless there’s a miraculous turnaround in the ratings, Forever is as good as cancelled. It’s yet another TV show about an immortal that will see its life cut short.

Love the show but have to watch it on hulu cuz I dont get home in time to see it when it airs.
i love this show but the issue is its competition i am also a big fan of chicago fire and person of interest move it to friday nights at 8PM because there is no other shows and i can gurantee you that viewership will go back up the last episode had 4.97 Million Viewers

This show is wonderful. KEEP IT! The cast is great and it has such potential. It is the first time in a LONG time I have tuned into ABC. Let’s see how this plays out!
Personally, I love the show ‘Forever’. It is well written with an amazing cast. I don’t believe it was given a fair chance in the Tuesday 10pm time slot. Perhaps another night at an earlier time would give it the demographic and the viewers it deserves.
I love Forever and so does everyone else I know that has watched it. It’s fresh, the actors are all great in their roles and the storylines are great. ABC should give it a chance to gain an audience. It’s not the show’s fault that not that many people watch ABC. ABC needs to realize that they’re not top dog when it comes to the networks and it’s going to take people time to find this show. It doesn’t seem to me that they’re giving this show half a chance to survive. Why would Eh put a new show in to such a tough time slot? Why not put a show with views in this slot and put Forever leading in to it a 9pm? If this show is cancelled, then I’m done with new shows. It seems any that I actually like are cancelled.
Are you serious? Keep it! This show is one of the smartest shows on tv. I’m so tired of the typical cop shows and this sets itself apart with witty characters and plots, suspense and the mystery of Henry. The time slot works for me because I do not like the other shows on that time slot. Please keep this show! I love it!
Give it a different night! It’s a losing cause going up against “Person of Interest” and “Chicago Fire”! I like the immortal spin on “Forever” and the cast is quite good!!
FOREVER is a fantastic show with terrific plot lines & intriguing characters. Plus, we get to see what Immortality would feel like, by watching Henry grow & develop in his unusual life.
Many millions of us are hoping ABC makes FOREVER continue on, for a long time!
PLEASE don’t cancel it! I love the whole concept of it. The flashbacks to historical memories that he has, the mystery of “Adam”, the intelligence of Henry, just everything! It has a brilliant cast as well. If anything maybe change the day it’s on but PLEASE don’t cancel it. There’s finally something worth watching again.
It’s reviews like this that just don’t add anything constructive. I mean, has this person even WATCHED Forever? Probably not–judging by the fact they go with the (somewhat unreliable–can’t even keep themselves straight half the time! Nielsen ratings). The show has spunk, it’s fun, it’s different and I mean, last but not least, it has Ioan Gruffudd. I heartily agree with you, EV. Why doesn’t ABC try switching the time slots around? CBS is doing it. Even their top show, ‘Big Bang Theory’, is moving to Thursday again. We’re all writing rave reviews about ‘Forever’. ABC needs to pay more attention to our comments. Whatever happened to that famous saying, “The customer is always right!” ? We ARE the customers, aren’t we?

Really, this whole article is negative. It is ridiculous that the critics will doom the show because of its poor time slot. I would rather see this quality programming than the drivel that ABC marches out night after night. Keep FOREVER and you can keep a viewer. Cancel it and goodbye ABC I can find another network to watch.
