TV show description:
A fantasy crime drama, this TV series follows New York City’s star medical examiner — Doctor Henry Morgan (Ioan Gruffudd), handsome man with a secret past. No matter how hard he tries, Henry can’t age even a single day — he’s immortal. He doesn’t know much about what happens when he “dies” except that everything on him disappears and he reemerges in a body of water, naked.
Henry doesn’t just study the dead to solve criminal cases however. He does it to try to solve the mystery that has eluded him for 200 years — the reason for his own inexplicable immortality.
Henry’s long life has given him remarkable observation skills which impresses his new partner, Detective Jo Martinez (Alana De La Garza). This piques her curiosity about who he is. Each new case and their budding friendship reveal layers of Henry’s long and colorful past. Jo’s sharp, no-nonsense instincts and her ability to close difficult cases have given her a tough-as-nails reputation on the force, despite also dealing with the untimely loss of her husband.
Lucas Wan (Joel David Moore) is a twenty-something self-proclaimed “artisan of death” and Henry’s worshipful assistant. He considers mortuary science an art, and Henry its Picasso. After transplanting to New York City from rural Ohio, Lucas worked up the courage to introduce himself to the star medical examiner at a crime scene.
A Brooklyn native, Detective Hanson (Donnie Keshawarz) works alongside Jo and has worked his way up to the NYPD’s elite squad of homicide detectives. He’s a family man who lives with his wife and two children in Queens. Unafraid of bending the rules to get the job done, Hanson is sometimes skeptical of Henry’s talent but often admires its effectiveness.
No one knows Henry better than his best friend and confidant, an antique shop owner named Abe (Judd Hirsch). The keeper of Henry’s immortality secret, Abe’s “carpe diem” philosophy inspires Henry to get more in touch with the beauty of living. Abe is not immortal but he is determined to make the most out of every moment of life.
Episode #22 — The Last Death of Henry Morgan
Henry and Adam have been on a long, unrelenting collision course, which is about to come to a head – possibly bringing about one man’s death – with only Jo standing in the way. Henry and Jo’s murder investigation into a museum worker’s death centers on a priceless missing ancient dagger, which not only ended the life of Julius Caesar, but also killed Adam the first time.
Meanwhile, Adam knows that there is something that Henry fears more than death – that Jo might discover his mystery. The two men tangle in a tumultuous game-changing confrontation.
First aired: May 5, 2015.
What do you think? Do you like the Forever TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a second season?
Was a good series, interesting and entertaining with a creative and unique story line. It is a shame it was cancelled…..my husband and I really enjoyed watching.
I was extremely upset to hear that his show had been cancelled. The cast was talented and the writing was great. I, for one, was looking forward to seeing if Henry’s lady detective would accept his startling news. I guess we’ll never know.
Such a good show Forever was worth watching
Has anybody found out if some other station is taking this wonderful show? I was so hoping to see the next episode and find out about Henry and the lady detective. Sad that good shows get cancelled.
TV is getting worse and worse. Maybe it is time to change to Netflix. Can’t find anything good on tv AND a lot of commercials .
ANY RECOMENDATIONS FOR A GOOD SIMILAR SHOW?
i am so sorry that abc has chosen to cancel such a great show. it was the best new show of its season. abc shame on you your out of touch with your audience.
I really liked the series Forever and will miss watching it I wish it had not been cancelled
Maybe NETFLIX will pick it up like it did Longmire! ABC is once again totally out of touch with it’s audience. They don’t people that DVR shows into thier ratings, that’s why they’re so cluless!
I thoroughly enjoyed “Forever”, and I was ver!y upset when it wasn’t renewed. The comroddery (sp?) of the characters, humor, and interaction was great! I just CANNOT believe that “Forever” is gone, but some of the most stupid shows I’ve seen are still on. Give us a break and bring “Forever” back….
This was a great show. The last episode was like WOW! I couldn’t wait to find out what happened next. This show had a lot going for it. So unlike these vapid reality shows or sitcoms that showcase stupidity. So I have 3 regular ABC shows I watch now. Everything else is Netflix, recorded movies or Food Network. Bring this back and I will watch it!!! I watch Scandal, Limitless, and Grey’s Anatomy. That is about it. I was watching Sticher’s but they won’t start showing that until summer of 2016…maybe.
I loved the show and was very much looking forward to many more seasons.
I loved this show. they need to rethink. It seems they always cancel the good shows.
maybe if ABC doesn’t want them, another network will pick them up. I wached this show every week. Please bring them back. It was GREAT right up there with the original NCIS with Gibbs and the gang. It should be around for years.
I loved “Forever”.
We LOVED Forever & are so disappointed that it got cancelled!!! We love all the characters, Ioan, Alana, Judd. We looked forward to watching it every week. It was a GREAT show…better then others that are still on. I will remain hopeful that people come to their senses & bring it back. Renew it!! There is so much more great stories that Henry & cast can bring. K
I’m disappointed that Forever was canceled. I was looking forward to a new season and was quite surprised when it never came. It just seems that good shows that I like get canceled while the crap persists year after year.
it was the best show on and now its gone why every time i get into a good show it gets canceled they need to get people who know what is good to decide this kind of thing the ones doing it now are idiots
Here we am waiting for the show to return with new episodes and we find out it was cancelled?! There must be some mistake! Bring back the show!! Nobody wants to see all this trash reality shows they have on. How come all the good shows get cancelled.
