As you may have noticed, ABC doesn’t typically announce if General Hospital has been renewed for another year, it just keeps running. No news is often good news. The venerable soap has been on the air for over six decades and is the alphabet network’s sole surviving daytime drama. Will General Hospital survive to see a 63rd season and the 2025-26 network TV season? Could ABC announce a renewal this time, or could it be cancelled and replaced by a talk show? Stay tuned.
Debuting in 1963 on April 1st, General Hospital revolves around the loves, lives, and deaths of the people of Port Charles, New York. Actors appearing in the current season include Tabyana Ali, Jens Austin Astrup, Maurice Benard, Alexa Havins Bruening, Braedyn Bruner, Steve Burton, Jane Elliot, Genie Francis, Nancy Lee Grahn, Tanisha Harper, Finola Hughes, Jonathan Jackson, Josh Kelly, Brook Kerr, Katelyn MacMullen, Kate Mansi, Cameron Mathison, Sofia Mattsson, Giovanni Mazza, Eden McCoy, Amanda Setton, Kirsten Storms, Josh Swickard, Donnell Turner, Kristen Vaganos, Kristina Wagner, Cynthia Watros, Maura West, Sawandi Wilson, Laura Wright, and Dominic Zamprogna.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.

For comparisons: The 2023-24 season of General Hospital averaged a 0.22 rating in the 18-49 female demographic with 1.97 million total viewers.

It’s been my go to show at 2pm for over 40 years. I’m 61 and know alot of women my age and older that watch regularly. Please don’t cancel it
With Hulu numbers included, GH is safe. GH used to be #2 in key demos but can’t catch B&B. Expect GH ratings to possibly drop in markets where it airs against BTG. 23% of GH viewers are African Americans, the lowest of any soap, and they may check out the new soap. BTG isn’t very exciting but GH has been a bore, too
Keep GH it’s the only soap I have watched since the 70’s , I grew up watching it with my grandmother. Still watch I usually tape it on my DVR and watch in the evening

We grew up watching General Hospital. If they cancel it I will be heartbroken!! The characters are like family. Please NO MORE TALK SHOWS!!! We LOVE GH!! From 3 sisters in the south❤️
The Drew and Willow thing is terrible. I quit watching the show because, Drew is sickening. Watched this show since I was younger. This the worst story lingo sorry the new writers went that way.
I agree I pvr so I can fast forward through their scene. The Drew Willow storyline makes me gag.
I’ve been watching GH for over 40 years . It is different from back 20 years ago. But it still keeps you wondering what will happen next. They have more filler now . Maybe the writers can’t think of enough good material so they use filler to fill the time slot. I’d still hate to see it go
There’s so much trash on TV now GH is a welcoming pleasure.

Please DO NOT cancel General Hospital! I have been watching since i was a teenager. I continued watching when my husband was stationed in Germany. It was the only soap they televised in Europe. It is one of my favorite shows.
