God Friended Me was recently cancelled by CBS, and now the cast is reacting to the move by the network. Brandon Michael Hall, Violett Beane and others on the cast spoke about the series ending on social media.
Per TV Line, Hall revealed the following about the cancellation of God Friended Me:
“There’s something to be said for an artist to be able to wake up every single day and work with a group of people who you can honestly call your family. The hardest thing is knowing I’m not going to be able to… work with them [every day].”

I have watched this show since day one. I love it. It is so nice to be able to watch a show that shows the good in people…something that is lost in the world today. I’m saddened to see that the show is being cancelled. It was a wonderful show, great concept without being preachy and I loved all that were in it. It is a show that they should be proud to have been a part of but SHAME ON CBS!!!
I am very dissatisfied to see the series ending. This was my favourite show. I hope the cancellation will be reconsidered.
I am very disapointed. I really liked the concept. I like that even though this family had differences, they lived and accepted each other… friends were true friends.. they cared about each other and others… no screaming, no cussing, no fighting… family friendly.. which is why I believe CBS decided suddenly to cancel,
Can’t have an audience that wants people to feel good about wholesome entertainment… after all, the world is in chaos right now… never let a good disaster go to waste… keep people upset and anxious… sorry state of afairs…
I cried. I just don’t understand why. This show reminds me of touched by an angel. It doesn’t have violence or smutty stuff. Is that why. I can not grasp it. This show makes me laugh and cry and feel like us underdogs have a chance. To take away someone’s good feel good and show people to talk about God. It was a great show. I am truly bummed

I can’t believe it’s being canceled. This is one of the best shows on TV, and on a Sunday night even. I hope CBS changes them minds…or let Netflix pick it up and make a killing in it.
Yes I am upset that the show is being cancelled. It’s one of the few shows showing the goodness of people without violence. It will be missed.

I’m truly upset, especially in these hard times of Corona pandemic, to lose one of the very few things that uplifted my spirit and made me optimistic and hopeful each week. Being compliant with social distancing for almost 2 months now, the characters in this excellent series had become a ‘replacement family’ of sorts … morale boosters. Please reconsider the cancellation decision and find some way to restore “God friended me” to the roster!!
I was sorry to see this show end. Maybe the God account can send a new friend suggestion and right this wrong. Seriously, the show was feel good with a challenge to the concept of religion, atheism and good for the sake of good. I am sure the audience would expand if given the chance.
Sorry to hear and disappoint that s good Godly show would be taken off for some smut how about taking something else off and leaving this on.
