TV show description:
A drama series set in New York City, God Friended Me revolves around a thoughtful and outspoken podcaster named Miles Finer (Hall). Miles is an atheist and that puts him at odds with his father, Reverend Arthur Finer (Morton), a beloved and longtime preacher at Harlem’s Trinity Church.
Miles’ life is turned upside down when he receives a friend request on social media from a user named “God”. He ignores and declines the request but it keeps coming back so, out of curiosity, he accepts and the mystery deepens as he digs deeper into his new friend’s account.
He’s led to Cara Bloom (Beane), an online journalist who’s been struggling with writer’s block. Intrigued by Miles’ story, Cara joins him in investigating friend suggestions from “God” and they end up helping others in need — while learning things about themselves.
Miles and Cara are aided by Ali Finer (Leslie), Miles’ supportive sister. She’s a doctoral psych student by day and a bartender by night. Also lending a hand is Rakesh Singh (Sharma), Miles’ best friend and a sometimes hacker who needs some help on the social side of his life.
Miles is convinced that the “God” account is an elaborate hoax and is devoted to uncovering the truth. In the meantime, he’s playing along and, in the process, seeing his life changed forever.
Episode #42 — The Mountain
Miles is forced to examine his lack of faith more than ever before when the God Account sends him his sister, Ali, as a friend suggestion on the eve of her cancer surgery.
First aired: April 26, 2020.
What do you think? Do you like the God Friended Me TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a third season on CBS?
I LOVE LOVE God Friended Me. A lot of things we won’t know answers to. Ok CBS canceled this show. Can’t another tv station pick it up? I have NEVER missed a show. I’m heartbroken over this being cancelled. It’s not right for people that enjoy the show to miss out on this. Neilson ratings stink. Bring back God Friended Me!! Thanks for reading my 2 cents worth.
I’m very unset that’s Sunday’s wil be boring without this show. .. this is a very inventive so thought provoking and morally uplifting not very many shows like that on any channel today clean fun clean site that provoking and you want to cancel this I should’ve known you want more garbage and less substance… it’s upsetting that I will have to look elsewhere for quality shows
I am very disappointed. I have enjoyed watching it. It is an uplifting an feel good show. The cast is amazing. Finally a show that helps people in all sort of ways. Sorry to see it go.!
Do not cancel, this is such an extraordinary show! I may not be a church goer, but we need this in this time of uncertainty!
I’m very disappointed to hear the cancellation news of “God Friended Me”. The show is a wonderful way to recharge and relax on Sunday night. It helps me be in a positive frame of mine for the coming week. I think the Fall 2019 season story lines were not as good as the prior shows. But I’m pleased to say the quality of the story lines returned in 2020. I have very few shows 0n my “must watch list”. This is one of them. I’m disheartened to think there are not enough people who crave a show that is based… Read more »
Love the show! Looked forward to watching it every Sunday night.
Disappointed that this show was cancelled. Have enjoyed watching it and was surprised to see that next week is the final show….WHY. I don’t normally comment on cancelled shows but I will miss this one.
With so much negativity in our world today, I find it very disheartening to see a show affecting people in such a positive way removed.
Please CBS reconsider and let this show stay of the air. We need shows like this one. I have watched it from the beginning. Great cast and great heartwarming story lines.
Do you believe that God made this tv show through the pens of the writers, just like He used the translater’s writer’s of the various Bibles? Maybe a Miracle work in progress…
Has been a favorite of mine since it started and was so sad to hear it was being cancelled. What is CBS thinking. Great cast and great heartwarming store lines. Please CBS reconsider.
so sad God
Friended Me is cancelled A show we need especially in times like this
Yes. Great show. Always uplifting and positive. Would love to have the station reconsider or another one give it a chance. Real tear jerkers a lot of times but always seemed to have a positive
spin in the end. In times like these or even before who couldn’t use a happy spin on life or for that matter a little more God in our life. I can only hope that maybe ” God will friend this show” . Hash tag #God Friend A Renewal. Thanks for listening. Dan
I agree with you 200 % Susan . I have a friend named Susan Lacey that I haven’t seen in years who was a nurse. Wouldn’t that be something if that is you. God does work in strange ways. Best wishes if that is you and God Bless. PS I remember her telling me about a knee replacement she had done and at the time joking and wondering if that was going to be a hassle if she had to go through Airport security. Thanks Dan
It was one of the best shows on TV today, helping people is so rare these days. Shame on you for taking it off the air.
Bruce Moses love the show best Sunday ever at 8P.M
What will I do
Please bring it CBS
So disappointed that God Friended Me has been canceled. It makes me wonder why CBS doesn’t support a program with characters that are compassionate, caring, and loyal to family and friends. I guess human decency isn’t lucrative any more. This program, with such believable characters searching for the answers to life’s questions, is inspirational and uplifting especially during this time of pandemic and uncertainty. It is a show that a family can watch together without being exposed to fresh mouthed kids and irresponsible, selfish parents. Please reconsider! Bring God Friended Me back! Bring family values back to TV!
In today’s society a faith based boost is much needed. While programs that follow of murder and violence are prolific in our daily lives. Jerry and Sue Ganshorn.
