After 13 years of movies and TV show episodes, magic is leaving the town of Middleton. Hallmark Channel has decided to end the Good Witch series so there won’t be an eighth season. The series finale airs on Sunday, July 25th.
A fantasy comedy-drama series, Good Witch stars Catherine Bell, James Denton, Sarah Power, Catherine Disher, Kylee Evans, Katherine Barrell, Marc Bendavid, and Scott Cavalheiro. Set in the town of Middleton, the show follows Cassandra “Cassie” Nightingale (Bell). She’s the owner of a shop called Bell, Book & Candle and is married to Dr. Sam Radford (Denton). Like her daughter Grace, Cassie has the gift of enchanted insight and magical intuition. The velvet pouches of soil discovered by Cassie, Abigail (Power), and Joy (Barrell) at the end of season six mark the start of a new Merriwick mystery for the cousins to unravel. This leads them to reflect on their pasts and how certain life events have impacted who they are now. Alongside the usual Middleton fun, season seven promises new relationships, personal challenges, and romance.
The seventh season of Good Witch is averaging a 0.12 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 1.53 viewers in the live+same day ratings. Compared to season six, that’s down by 29% in the demo and down by 18% in viewership. It’s one of Hallmark’s lowest-rated series but still does pretty well when compared to other cable dramas.
Here’s the series ending announcement from Hallmark:

I love the show. I look forward to each season. I hate this news a lot.
Please reconsider this decision. Good Witch has been so entertaining. Clean programming. Not afraid to watch if grandkids are around. Only negative is the girl relationship that is developing but so far has been portrayed subtly.
That sucks , really enjoyed this show
I hate that they are canceling The Good Witch I love that show. It’s clean entertainment no violence no sex family oriented it’s been on for 13 seasons and because it’s lost a LITTLE interest they cancel it really what to put some stupid show on. BIG MISTAKE!!
I am so sad, loved from the beginning, then bring back them in movies again.
Why cancel Good Witch? I love watching it. It’s better than alot of other shows that’s on. Alot of other shows needs to be cancel instead of Good Witch. It’s more entertaining than some of the other shows that are not really fit to watch at any age, due the filthy language, nudity. It’s a good clean show. We the viewers should have a say so on what we want to watch. I rather watch shows like Good Witch and other clean good shows rather than vulgar shows. I will be sorry and miss it very much.
So upset The Good Witch is being cancelled.
I’m such a fan hate to see it end I just wish they would have waited till halloween to end it and had Gracie come back for the last time as well.
I can’t believe they are cancelling such a great show. All the great shows always get cancelled.
I so agree. Good shows cancelled and lousy shows stay.
This sucks Hallmarks bad move
That’s not nice! Good Witch is a great show. Down to earth, sensible, no curse words etc. I am truly disappointed in you Hallmark Channel. You just ruined my day. I have been watching repeats and the shows that come on Sunday.
Same! I just love the whole feel of the show, the town and closeness. I am so upset.
I love the Good Witch movies & series !! Its been my favorite Hallmark show. I am broken hearted to see it end!!!!!
One of the best series on Hallmark. Please don’t cancel.
I loved this series and will miss it. It might have done better at a different time slot. Being sandwiched between movies isn’t the best.
One of the cleanest shows on tv that shows hope, acceptance, love, etc and you cancel it… go figure. Will miss this show.
I agree. We need more shows like this on all channels. That’s what’s wrong with this world these days. To much violence and not enough good stories like this and good comedies.
