Earlier, we reported that Poison Ivy has been recast for season three of Gotham. Now, FOX has revealed the reason behind the character change, Entertainment Weekly reports.
For the first two seasons of the Batman prequel, Poison Ivy was played by young actress Clare Foley (pictured). In season three, Maggie Geha will portray the character as a young woman.
Does that mean the show is jumping forward a few years? Nope. FOX says all will be explained in the new season:
The series also will catch up with the future POISON IVY (Maggie Geha), who, after an encounter with a monster from Indian Hill, finds herself reborn as a young woman who’s harnessed the full power of her charms; and will dive into the origin stories of JERVIS TETCH/MAD HATTER (Benedict Samuel), a talented hypnotist teetering on the edge of madness; and the TWEED BROTHERS.”
Season three of Gotham premieres on September 19th at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
