Reba McEntire had a successful run with her Reba sitcom, which aired for six seasons and 126 episodes. However, her follow-up comedy, Malibu Country, lasted just one season before being cancelled. How will her newest foray into comedy perform on NBC? Will Happy’s Place be cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned.
A traditional sitcom, the Happy’s Place TV series was created by Kevin Abbott and Julie Abbott. The comedy stars McEntire, Belissa Escobedo, Melissa Peterman, Pablo Castelblanco, Tokala Black Elk, and Rex Linn. In the story, Bobbie (McEntire) is a divorcée whose daughter is deployed in the military. She’s inherited her father’s neighborhood tavern, Happy’s Place, a business she’s been running for a decade. Bobbie’s surprised to discover she now has a new business partner, Isabella (Escobedo), a twenty-something half-sister she never knew she had. A Gen-Zer with a psychology degree, Isabella is shocked by her new role at the bar and does her best, though she and Bobbie don’t see eye-to-eye. Also working at the bar are cheerful but needy bartender Gabby (Peterman); stoic chef Emmett (Linn); a quiet but very handy waiter named Takoda (Black Elk); and Steve (Castelblanco), the business’ accountant.
Nielsen Ratings
The Nielsen ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances of survival. This chart is updated as new ratings data becomes available.
12/16 update: You can see the latest night’s ratings in context.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Note: These are the final national ratings, including all live+same day viewing and DVR playback (through 3:00 AM). While these numbers don’t include further delayed or streaming viewing, they are a very good indicator of how a show is performing, especially when compared to others on the same channel. There can be other economic factors involved in a show’s fate, but typically the higher-rated series are renewed and the lower-rated ones are cancelled.

What do you think? Do you like the Happy’s Place TV series on NBC? Should it be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
Me and my wife were excited about the show (loved the connection Reba & Melissa Peterman had before). But after watching 2 episodes we have not watched another as they were so annoying it was not enjoyable. The others are still on our DVR. No one (at least that we know of) would show up and act as entitled as Isabella. Our dad (you didn’t know about me) left us his business. You have been running it by yourself for 10 years. But obviously I now get to show up know nothing about how you’ve been running it, and make… Read more »
I really wanted to like this show but after four episodes I can’t see it getting better. Reba McEntire on her own is funny, but Belisa Escobedo’s character has ruined it. Don’t understand why it has high ratings here and even renewed for a second season. Won’t be watching again.
I finally found a show that I can watch with my whole family, at a pase that doesnt agitates me, and thats heartwarming and calming. This show is comedy/drama, just loke life itself, with its bittersweets moments, and no PG Rated. I feel like some comments are based on younger crowed that wants an instant gratification, and that had no patient to brew the incident incident that every good show has. I do feel like the first episode, the pilot was slower than the rest, but on its defense, is because they were introducing the characters. Also the show lasts… Read more »
I am pretty easily amused by comedies but this one never makes me laugh.
I’ve tried, for 4 episodes now, but I find nothing funny or interesting about this show.
Loved the Reba show and I really like Reba and Melissa, but this show is just not it.
Love the show! I hope there will be a 2nd season
I give it a ok. Reba was better.
First episode I wasn’t impressed with Hopefully it gets better or it won’t make it.
I loved the show. Reba and Melissa are still gold together and I think the rest of the cast has the potential to be great. Most pilots feel frantic and rushed as they set premise and I fully expect this show to settle in nicely as episodes continue. Can’t wait to see more.
Have no idea why you got a downvote, your comment was 100 percent correct. I’ve seen rhe first two episodes and greatly enjoyed it as well! A lot of shows need the first year to find their groove and what they want to be. There’s potential here, hopefully it’ll do well enough to get renewed! Definitely watching the rest of the season!
I loved it, will be a regular on our watch list❤️
Loved it. Finally a show the whole family can watch together.
Loved the show!! It was so funny and corky. Reba was so natural as always, Melissa and her together are golden, Tokala Black Elk, Belissa Escobedo and Pablo Castelblanco great too! And course Rex!! Loved his previousous work.
This is its own show, its own core and its own story. I had the chance to be an audience guest for one of the following episodes and its gets funnier and hilarious. I will be tunning in for more.
This is sooooo bad. I’m embarrassed for the actors.
I love the show. I think Reba is great and so is Melissa Peterman. I hope to see more of this show as years to come
Awful
I was looking forward to this show. Love the actors but it fell short. Every scene in the show seemed short ( rushed ) through with the humor. Hard to watch. Some of the actors were in Young Sheldon and did a fantastic job in that show. The writers can make or break a show. Will not be watching!
You have to give it more chances to get better! And it will! And it’s not that bad now
